WHY does DisneyLAND have their dreamlights on their castle, but WDW has chosen not to put them up!!?? WDW blames it on the guests complaints about the crane ruining their pictures! I don't think that is a reason...THAT IS A COP OUT! WDW management, take responsibility for your decisions and stop blaming the guests! Disneyland have CAPS that go onto the roofs of the castle and probably doesn't take that much time...overnight! Why can't you make CAPS for BOTH castles that have the lights ATTACHED TO THEM!? I just solved another Disney problem!

34 vs 183 feet because math is hard.

Presumably because of the projections onto the castle for the fireworks shows.

I think the projections would work fine even with the dream lights installed.

The loss of dream lights is a blatant cost cutting measure simply because Disney knows folks will show up anyway.

Well they are bringing back a nighttime parade so anything is possible. Now will the castle lights return with the same look? Probably not.

If they turned the dreamlights off during projections you will not notice them!
We, the guests, need to start standing our ground and STOP GOING TO THE PARKS!
The WDC would soon find out that there is a problem! (they probably still wouldn't do anything)

I have a trip PLANNED for ORLANDO, and Disney is in the plans for the Halloween Party, but seeing how things are going with Disney, we will most likely cancel Disney out of all of our plans!

Also, is part of it that the colors of the light strings (cords/wires?) match the classic color scheme of the castle, rather than the 70th Cinderella/50th Anniversary color it is now? Not saying them changing the color back shouldn’t be done, but visually I feel like they would show up far more on the pink/salmon if they are the classic white.

I doubt enough people would cancel to make a difference

Nope, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmas Time had its debut season with the lights. Here’s proof a still-shot from the finale:

It took a month of cranes to put them up and a month of cranes to take them down spoiling the consistent open pictures of the Castle. They know that they can revive the feel just by projecting them onto the castle. I don't know when that was taken but is it possible that this was a projection as well.

It wasn’t, and you can’t. I took that video in 2019. The human eye can discern when light is coming from an object vs being reflected and especially just lit by light. Projections fail to replicate the effect.

The last few years they perfected 3rd shift installation of those lights such that the crane was always down during the day. Those guests merely couldn’t walk from Sir Mickeys to the hub.

Well, either way, by now I'm sure that all those pre-fab light setups have gone the way of the old parade floats.
