Castle Diamond Overlay Returning?

Sorry, I have to disagree. The duct tape was not the worst thing ever seen in a Disney park or on a Disney castle. Don't forget about this monstrosity:

The overlay done for DLP's 5th anniversary wasn't much better. What the heck are those creepy faces doing peering at guests from the turrets?

Now some are saying it's going back up as the roofs need to be refurbished so they're likely covering them until they can get them fixed up.

I think it'd be really nice to have standard Disneyland back for a bit. Space Mountain back to normal, no castle overlay even if just the roofs, etc. after the last few years of the 60th, season of the force, etc. Especially before Star Wars Land, and with the MSEP back.

I know this won't happen, but I can dream, right?

I ran the Star Wars Half today. Some of the pieces of the diamond overlay were backstage. Other than the run I haven't been in the park yet. I take a good look later today.

Users on Mice Chat are saying that they did indeed put the snow overlay overtop the diamond roofs.

That doesn't make sense. The snow roofs were built to fit over the original turrets and wouldn't fit on top of the inherently bigger 60th coverings.

Extremely obvious now that it is returning for whatever reason. I'm assuming it's for nighttime firework purposes, but would rather have the normal castle roof refurbished instead.

Yeah, perhaps they want a light up roof to coincide with the return and this was the easiest way instead of designing a brand new one? Or maybe they want to sink the roof up to upgrade RDCT?

I hope that the castle gets mapping projections for regular fireworks again like the fireworks for Halloween & Christmas.
