Castle Diamond Overlay Returning?

Extremely obvious now that it is returning for whatever reason. I'm assuming it's for nighttime firework purposes, but would rather have the normal castle roof refurbished instead.

That would cost money and we all know the parks are loss leaders for Disney. That is why we have to pay for fast passes now.

I loved the decor for the 60th, but now it looks like Christmas lights in February. I hope they properly stored the regular gold spire toppers.

I'm sure that's it, but really, no one could have planned for that or anticipated it? Theme park operations should not be a series of elaborate surprises.
When the snow came down the jaw dropped on all the managers standing around watching. Then they feverishly grabbed their cellphones and started making frantic phone calls to their colleagues. "Ted, you won't BELIEVE what just happened!!!!!!!!"

TDA isn't immune. "Crap, our new parade has to be fixed but Fantasmic is down and we canned our fancy new fireworks. Quick, tell WDW they have to send back the zombie light parade."
I still think the fact they retired their brand-new nighttime entertainment in both parks for a 19+-year old fireworks show (soon to be a 12-year old fireworks show in February) and a 7-year old nighttime spectacular and reintroduced them under the guise of "nostalgia" (getting real tired of that honestly) was either a hilariously stupid move or a brilliant one.

The great thing about running a Disney theme park in 2016 is that you can be hilariously over-the-top bad at it and no one will notice because the parks are full all of the time.

Huh? Loss leaders? What?

According to the OC Register "In Disney’s third fiscal quarter, which ended July 2 [2016], revenue for Disney’s Parks and Resorts division increased 6 percent to $4.4 billion and the operating profit was up 8 percent year over year to $994 million".

Disney's Parks & Resorts business unit is making a sh*t ton of money.

I'm actually more bothered by the clothesline... err... zip line in the background.

Diamond covers are officially back up. No silver duct tape straps though, so kudos to whoever made that decision.

Looking at that, is anyone else thinking that would have been a good overlay for the 60th? They could have added the 60 logo and some of the blue banners and left it at that. It would have had a nice shine and little extra anniversary pop, but been allowed to show off its natural beauty a little more.

They do know the castle is beautiful right? That's why people love it. Just don't tell that to Hong Kong... ;)

You missed the sarcasm in my statement.
