Cash-Strapped Disney

Hmmm... I'm sure you're right, but I'll have to check that again to see how I missed that.

But then... that doesn't make sense. It was people in the tristate area who visited world wide hotspots and brought the virus back that were the problem. So, not quarantining people who visited hotspots isn't good policy.
Actually...I heard Murphy ( NJ) say that and it Includes entries, exits and bouncebacks...

But it’s not “mandatory” here either. That’s a misconception: I’m ok with that 👍🏻

Well...not “politics” in the modern sense - perhaps...

But there’s a history of Disney’s business and political choices that would not look good to many if not most Disney fans now.

But that’s for the lens of history and for another thread 😉
I’m interested. I don’t immediately recognize what you’re referring to, so I’m not sure I know about it.

With the CP program not happening, WDW had multiple apartment units ( Vista Way, Commons ) sitting vacant. It could be rented out to locals to help Disney get cash.

You can file this under 'things that will never happen'.

Disney doesn't want to be a landlord for just random joes. They do it for the CP and international programs because it allows them to pay less to those CMs because they're getting a place to stay.

Let's just leave it as he was a capitalist, and a damn good one. There's a lot about Disney he's rolling in his grave over right now, but I doubt it's ticket/hotel prices.

And wasn't far off on the union beats.. but yes, another thread for another day.

Let’s not talk about it.

Which means not talking about it...not saying “leave it at that” and then throw out two sentences of politics and an unsupported summary.

I’d rent a flat at the Commons...

...if it came with this:

Disney was a Republican during a time when the Democrat party was pushing Jim Crow and the KKK. There's not much to talk about there.

Note this is a historical statement, not a political statement. It's the same as declaring George Washington was a federalist.

And this is why I didn’t want to go here...not that I’m disputing you.

A general rule of thumb is if I’M saying it’s a bad idea...it really is 😉

If Disney needs to make $$, they will find a way to make it. You underestimate their minds. Desperate times can mean desperate actions.

There’s no money in that...and I don’t believe Disney even “owns” them...they are third party managed - for sure.

Cps/ips cost Disney a big fat zero...not one cent. But renting out their austin Powers pads isn’t the way to sustain profits. Disney would be run of the mill apartment lords in a depressed economy Orlando.

As quark says: “there’s no profit in that”
