Casey's Corner testing new menu?

they should test out "not" using those cardboard trays for the drinks and use plastic trays. It's a pain in the butt for us custodians to keep those cans empty and show ready
I would agree too. It looks like a pain to have to dig them out of the cans and keep them separate. We usually wait until the last minute before tossing our garbage to see if a CM is doing garbage duty so we can leave them on top of the can or hand them to the CM.

I do think that they really need a wider variety. You basically can get *the* hot dog, and thats it. The hot dogs are of average quality, not up to par with ballpark hot dogs. I'd like them to offer footlong hot dogs, chicago hot dogs, chili dogs, etc.

A CM at Caseys said that the change to the gourmet dogs is soon.

Also noticed that Lunching Pad changed out the Rueben dog for a Coney Island dog today. Happened sometime in the last 6 weeks, not sure when

Very disappointed with Casey's my last 3 trips. Their "standard" dog was a foot long, it's been half that now for about 3 years. The dogs are average quality anyways, the standard footlong was a nice spin. Someone somewhere posts a blog about Disney declining by degrees, this to me is a perfect example. Maybe these new offerings will make a difference. Being from Chicago, they better get the toppings correct, as another poster pointed out, or I will be very disappointed...

NEWS FLASH! Casey's is a "Quick Service" food location in the Magic Kingdom, which means it's FAST FOOD. Your order is thrown together in about 30 seconds just like McDonalds, Burger King or Wendy's. It is truly starting to get pathetic when people are knocking the so called "quality" of a fast food location in a THEME PARK none the less. I don't whine on internet boards about the quality of McDonalds or Taco Bell food, so why do people whine about Disney fast food? Your order is not special, it's not custom made, it comes off a hotline. There's a pan of hot dogs, corn dogs, fries and nachos on the hotline and cast members are simply grabbing whatever you ordered and throwing it on your tray or in the window as quickly as possible so you don't complain about it taking too long for your order. If you have a complaint about food, only make it a valid complaint if you've been served a meal at a table service restaurant like Plaza, Tony's, Liberty Tree Tavern or Cinderella's Royal Table. Fast food is not about quality, it's about convenience and how fast it can be made, I don't walk into Burger King expecting a gourmet meal. You can complain about outdated attractions or entertainment all you want and I will support your valid argument, but when you complain about FAST FOOD at a THEME PARK, you will forever be on my stupid list. :hammer::brick:

Thats a beautiful thing right there. Chicago dogs are one of the best foods on the planet. My favorite is Portillos. Disney needs to contract with them to make the Chicago dogs.

The list seems to suit its owner.

McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's manage to offer better variety than a lot of the walk-up counters at Disney. Quick shouldn't be a synonym for boring. And hopefully these changes are an indicator that won't be the case at WDW indefinitely. :)

Once again, Walt Disney World consists of THEME PARKS. Magic Kingdom averages 30,000-40,000 people per day. Almost all of those people are going to eat at some point per day. The overall mentality for quick service at Disney World is FAST FOOD. Quality of offerings will always be secondary as Disney does everything to cut corners and grow their bottom line. Plus they do have a huge expansion to pay for... last i checked, the new Ariel ride alone is costing Disney near $100 million. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

Other expenditures should never be justification for not providing high-quality options at quick service.

There was a time in the late 90s and early 00s that a wide variety of options could be found at every QRS, and most, if not all QSR locations in a park were open.

I welcome any indication of a return to that mentality.

^ Indeed. If the idea is "there's too many of 'em, just serve 'em crap" then at some point there might not be so many of 'em!

The idea that food quality goes out the window because you're at a THEME PARK (I guess if you capitalize it, it makes more sense ) is bizarre to me. That's like saying "what, you expected the parking trams to work and the merchandise to last more than 10 minutes after you bought it? This is a THEME PARK, buddy. We do rides here. Thassit!" :D

He's not so much complaining about it not being a gourmet hotdog but that it used to be bigger and better and they cut back. Just another example of the Disney cutbacks they try to squeak by with such as processed chicken nuggets and the Lights of Winter.
