Casey's Corner testing new menu?

I was in MK in mid-December. Stopped in Casey's and on the menu they had a "Buffalo" or a "Chicago" dog. The Buffalo was a hot dog with Buffalo Wing type sauce and lettuce. The Chicago, which I did get, was a dog with special relish and tomatoes.

The Chicago was good. Both of them came on a different kind of bun. Instead of a normal hot dog bun, this was something I can only describe as a miniature loaf of bread and sliced down the middle with a hot dog in it. It was a LOT of bread, but quite tasty.

The next day we were MK for our 2nd day. Stopped at Casey's for corn dog nuggets and all the hot dogs were back to "normal". I asked a cast member what happened to the Chicago and Buffalo dog and she said they were "testing" and that they were ironing out a few things". I don't know what exactly they are changing or tweaking.

She also said that the results of the test menus will go into effect sometime in January.

Yes. Breaking news regarding hot dogs at MK. :ROFLOL:

:)

I don't think I have ever had a Buffalo hot dog. It sounds amazing.

I had a hot dog with BBQ sauce, bacon, and shredded cheddar. Now that was a hot dog.

As long as they keep the obnoxiously large tub-o-cheese out they can make all the changes they want!

Honestly, I liked the taco hot dog at the lunching pad, so I'd be happy with this change...as long as it's still possible to get a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut.

Are people really unfamiliar with what a Chicago style hotdog is?

A Chicago dog is traditionally prepared as follows:

Vienna beef hot dog
Poppyseed bun
Diced tomatoes
Sport peppers
Sweet relish
Bun length slice of pickle (or a whole pickle spear)
Celery salt

Yellow mustard is optional.

Anything that makes the quick service options less bland and predictable is good news. One of my biggest laments at Disney over the years has been the dearth of interesting/novel food items at the walk-up counters.

they should test out "not" using those cardboard trays for the drinks and use plastic trays. It's a pain in the butt for us custodians to keep those cans empty and show ready

Surprisingly yes. If it was not for The Loop restaurant serving them I would not know about them.

Don't forget, it isn't just any relish. It should be a lovely neon green! And yes, for those of us who like ketchup, we have to pretend we are taking packets for our fries...:lookaroun

Love Award Weiners at DCA and would love Casey's convert into a ballpark dog depot.

ALSO- the Chicago Dog should be added along with some Cajun, Fried Chicken, Clam Chowder, and BBQ to the American Adventure QS!

Wow, I miss working at Casey's! That's where I worked when I first joined the company. Good old MS!!!

They started the nachos while I was working there, so it would surprise me that they are trying a new item again.

I miss working MS like crazy!! I learned alot there :-)

That sounds great, although I'd ditch the onions and substitute a soy dog. With all those toppings, I doubt it would make much difference.

I'm particularly intrigued by the celery salt. Not sure I've ever even had it.

How would a soy dog fit on the bun by simply eliminating the onions?

There also has been some testing for a new menu "board" for Casey's for the past 6 months or so. It looks like an old baseball scoreboard but is fitted with flat screen digital monitors.
