Kathy Mangum, executive producer and vice president, Walt Disney Imagineering, said Radiator Springs Curio Shop would sell pins and small merchandise items based on actual curio shops along the real-life Route 66.
Food will be inspired by food found along Route 66, including macaroni and cheese, savory sandwiches, and a lot of pie.
Flo's V8 Cafe will tell the never-before-told backstory of Flo, who was part of the Motorrama Girls, a touring group out of Detroit, through posters from their tours and all her gold records.
Kevin Rafferty, senior concept writer, Walt Disney Imagineering, revealed that all-new music is being written to go along with Mater's Junkyard Jamboree attraction.
The four corners of Radiator Springs, where all the commerce of the small town is, will completely be lit up with neon at night, just like the film.
Out of the 12 acres of Cars Land, six acres is dedicated to Radiator Springs Racers.
The story of the founding father of Radiator Springs Racers, Stanley, will be told in the attraction queue. He founded a radiator cap business with a product called Nature's Coolant. So the shaded waterfall queue area, which was the first settlement for Radiator Springs, will wind through Stanley's original oasis, including his original radiator cap shop, a service station he built, a glass bottle house, which is a roadside attraction he made out of glass bottles, and the Cozy Caverns Motorcourt.
Walt Disney Imagineering is over the halfway mark of the construction of Cars Land.

Can anyone tell me if Carsland will have any shade? From the concept art and all these progress pictures, it doesn't look like any shade (trees and such) will be installed.
Is that right?

They are now installing the ride system for Mater's Junkyard Jamboree
It's said that one of the requests John Lasseter made to the WDI was to make sure to include plenty of trees and greenery in the new land. You'll notice in the pictures posted on the previous page that they have already added many trees near the queue of Radiator Springs Racers. The actual queue for the ride will take you through Stanley's Oasis which is supposed to be a lush and shaded area next to the waterfall.
Keep in mind there's still about a year left of construction -- more trees will be planted as construction progresses. Right now they are wrapping up the sculpting and painting of the rock.
