The removal of the river is the one thing that is hitting me hard.
I can accept most of the other changes with mixed responses - some I like, some I don't.
But, yes - end of an era for me with the removal of the river and river boat.
It really hurts Magic Kingdom a lot for me.
It just removes the charm, and the classic Disney aspect for me.
There’s still a lagoon in front of the park with boats passing by

Tiana's will now have a beautiful view of the unthemed roof of the Cars loading building. Honestly, whatever Imagineer designed this should be fired.

If we had to have a Cars land, it seems like the logical plan would have been to leave the front loop of the Rivers and build a full land, with the stores and restaurants Disney loves so well, on the second loop. Close Tom Sawyer and the riverboat if you have to save money and cancel the vague Villains Land. The more one thinks about the current plan, the more mad it seems.

Actually... we're assuming this expansion is all about Cars merch sales, but does the new area even feature a major store? Just the ride exit gift shop?

This is something I’ve noticed from the beginning and have posted about multiple times. It’s a solid D ticket at best.

I have a similar worry—and talk about adding insult to injury with removing RoA for that!

Do any of our insiders have thoughts/predictions about the scale of this attraction? It’s inevitably going to be compared with RSR despite being a different ride system, but will it fall way short of that in ambition alone?

From Google Earth, a conservative estimate of the "space" for the cars area is 4.5 acres. This rides track seems to utilize most of that space with the walkways, load building, and small ride all housed "within" that layout. The entire area for RSR, including the show building, line, and rockwork space is about 5.5 acres. So RsR is definitely a bit bigger, but not drastically. And this ride is going to be a different, probably slower, ride system.

I think it is going to be relatively long time wise as will be more about exploring / off roading vs racing and there are some inside parts where the cars could basically stop or go slow to see animatronics, etc

Obviously just looking at the concept art which could be very different from the final product

Other then the load station, I don't see any indoor sections. I'm very doubtful the ride will feature any significant dark ride elements.

Wouldn't it be wild to have a hotel or two abutted up against the MK with a rear gate to Villains Land?

Once they fill in ROA, they could also fill in the channel/canal of water running North-South on the west side of MK, correct? Perhaps it's already in the plans/permits? Seems like that opens up a lot of westward expansion.

I studied the concept art for a few hours and measured the track based on Google Earth and the tracks is 1.147 miles long.
