It is closed hours before fireworks start. It didn't used to be.
I just checked the website. I didn’t know it closed at 6. That’s way earlier than I remember. By the way I heard this from a cast member who worked at the Train in the park.

The WDWRR used to close with the park. The reason it closes is to save money. It’s strange because the WDWRR is always packed.
I imagine both are true. They close it early to save on operating costs and have to close it before the fireworks. As for popularity yes my family rides it a lot because my little brother loves trains and it’s always full. The last time I rode it before the big closure the line at the Frontierland station went past splash mountain. Granted it was New Year’s Eve.

It still boggles my mind why they the US parks doesn't even a Frozen land and they chose Cars. I feel like it's perfect for MK. I don't think there's gonna be a new Cars movie anytime soon yet there is a Frozen 3 in the works. I wouldn't mind replicating Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey.

There’s a Frozen land in Epcot, including the original ride they’ve cloned twice now.

Well…. There’s a frozen themed attraction, meet and greet and restaurant within the pavilion of Norway. Several issues with that and the concept of Epcot.

Building a full frozen land would be ideal for MK or Studios. Or even DAK - since reindeer are in the film. (wink wink)

In hindsight it does seem shortsighted that they put the Frozen ride in Norway. I’d say any Frozen land at WDW is highly unlikely now and because of this it seems pretty much guaranteed for DLR. Whether it’s a Fantasyland expansion using the motorboat cruise area and part/ all of Autopia or a full blown land in DL Forward. Neither seems ideal though. Having a Frozen land outside of Fantasyland seems redundant and like a waste of space in Anaheim. Then if they do put it in Disneyland proper it comes with its own risks and challenges of making it harmonious with Disneylands scale inside the berm.

Well, we'll see if Frozen 3 also brings in a billion dollars...

We have a Toy Story ride in one park and a Toy Story Land in another, so, there's precedence. Unlike other Disney parks in which there's only one or two gates, WDW likes to spread their most popular IP in more than one park. Can you imagine the calamity of entering a Disney park and not meeting princesses?!

Let's take a look at how much Dumbo merch is bringing in...

Haha true but the difference here is that the main draw / E ticket already exists at Epcot. So do they build/ design a brand new Frozen E ticket for this new land? Not sure what route they go with Frozen 3 but as of now I don’t think the source material supports another E ticket. Perhaps if they went the thrill route (Frozen Matterhorn) but then they’d be alienating a lot of the kids. But then again we have Tiana’s Bayou Adventure with a 40 inch height requirement.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think toystory is the only IP with RIDES in two different theme parks.

Yes for rides, but no for attractions. Beauty and the Beast has attractions in 3 parks, Little Mermaid, Frozen, Finding Nemo and soon Monsters Inc have attractions in 2 parks. The Lion King between 1998 and 2002 had shows at 3 parks too
