It's time to ignite the spark. I think this guy says it better than I possibly could, but this is how I feel:
What shift in concept? Nothing has changed about the ride system or concept since it was originally announced. The second Cars attraction was/is filler and the main attraction sounds worse and worse with each passing update/blog post. Surely this isn't as originally planned?! I have to wonder if this hypothetical shift in concept is in part due to fandom outcry for Rivers of America and not just budgetary reasons. Not by any stretch of the imagination an optimist but perhaps they've made sacrifices to the ride system to save some of ROA, however unlikely. Hoping for the best but really don't see the point anymore.
I agree with the Penguin. We have truly entered a new golden age!!!![]()
If this is the case. It was the case for several decades and would have required something drastic being done about it long ago.
None.Is there any hope of a shareholder ousting?
The shareholders really like Bob Iger that much?None.
I am reminded of Rocket Rods as a cautionary tale...the biggest flop in Disney Theme Park History....that one ride took out 3 viable attractions (sound familiar?)...and then failed miserably... They have still not fully recovered from it....and it has been 25 years since it's closure...
That’s kind of a strange stanceThe same guy who puts the company's foot in a controversy once every two months?
keep in mind that this is hardly an all-new phenomenon - it all traces back to the NextGen initiative, the FastPass+ system it birthed being added to near any attraction with a moving vehicle, maintenance tanking to the point where taking an attraction down to get it in optimal working order (an unsung, yet crucial factor in customer satisfaction; you'd be surprised at how a given attraction's reputation can be affected by how it's maintained) is instead a rare commodity, the majority of new attractions being high-demand technology showcases (and in quite a few cases, added to the wrong parks just for the sake of inducing more demand where it isn't really necessary), etc. etc. etc.I barely even understand what Lightning Lane is. It should not be dominating everything that gets built in the parks. I can't see this as a financially successful way of doing things.
I think you are referring to a different “guest experience” - and yes Disney still does a great job with that compared to most places.I don't know. I go to Disney frequently. One thing Disney gets right imo is the guest experience!
When was the last time you've been?
For now.MK still has Pirates, space mountain. Small world, Peter Pan, HoP, CoP, Big Thunder
Seems like quite a bit classic still there
Perform better AKA monetize lines using LL salesYep, just like Monsters taking over Muppets, this is not about finding space for an attraction, this is about replacing what they feel is an under performing attraction with one they feel will perform better.
It's also so interesting how little most care about the theme of the park. As long as they get their IP, the rest doesn't matterIt's so interesting that so many people care so much about the riverboat and Tom sawyer island, yet they both are walk ons every time I go.
So is country bears. Not sure what the point is?It's so interesting that so many people care so much about the riverboat and Tom sawyer island, yet they both are walk ons every time I go.
