MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Now here in Florida, we created a track with a controlled environment so we could recreate our favorite off-road elements and tell a story through movement.
y'know, if you're really that adamant on being storytellers, maybe don't try to insist so when referring to your half-baked, half-assed attempts at ✨IMMERSION!✨and pushing technology that could easily wear off after one or two rides at the forefront?

I wouldn’t into read anything into the ride system here yet. Seems like the emphasis was on the ride vehicles — I’m not sure a tabletop hand-pushed model is an exact representation of how the tech is going to work.

If just flat out on a connected track then yeah, just maybe a quicker moving "dark ride" type set up

Wonder if maybe cars are independently powered, etc but they have a guiderail - so like next generation speedway

If it is indeed tracked, I'm surprised. There doesn't seem to be anything groundbreaking here if that is the case.
The only thing I can think of is that the vehicle can go over a rough track (etc. bump on the left only) rather than simulating a rough track like they do with the EMVs?

Also, I know that the SxS panel was about new world building at the parks, but there was zero mention of the second Cars attraction, right?

Correct - I don't even recall mentioning there would be a 2nd attraction

It's a shame that they've already deleted the panel as I want to go back and check. The 2nd Cars ride is the one attraction I've been worried that they'd cut since it was the only one to have no concept art and was just mentioned in passing. I'm hoping it isn't cut

This is just saddening to me. Tears down a beautifully themed riverboat experience for a loud, outdoor “dirt-track” car experience in hot, rainy Florida in a park that already has a raceway ride? And tearing down more trees and waterways to do it? Sad.

Well, this is the company that destroyed affordable, quaint, log-cabin-themed accommodations for fancy, modern unaffordable structures in “Fort Wilderness.”

Just sad to me how they don’t get the value of the wilderness and Frontierland themes.

Definitely would be the easiest to cut and the area doesn't seem that big so focusing on the main one makes sense

That said, this was focusing on technology and the 2nd attraction might be fairly simple and covering it didn't make sense for this convention

That's my hope. I'm hoping it'll be mentioned at Destination D23, but if it isn't, I'm thinking it'll be cancelled then

So we are either getting a crappy 2nd ride or nothing at all along with this potential unimpressive 1st ride…

1. The whole area is not going to he a dirt track, it will be a national forest and the ride appears to be mostly hidden within it.

2. I think its pretty evident given they announced a change over to electric for Disneyland’s autopia but not for WDW’s raceway that the latter will not live much longer past the opening of Cars.

3. There’s nothing to suggest at the moment that it’s going to be loud and intrusive at all.

4. Just because the River is leaving does not mean that the national park setting full of trees, waterfalls, and rock formations will not also be beautiful to look at AND provide a spot to rest in even if you don’t wish to ride the attraction(s) there. It also does not mean that we won’t be getting wilderness themes. If anything this opens us up to MORE of that by diversifying the settings and aesthetics of the area rather than a bland looking wildest west style pathway next to the attractions.
