I am suprised people are okay if ROA goes away. Most good theme parks in the world have some sort of water for kinetic movement or environment. EPCOT and AK both do. HS not having anything beyond Echo Lake has received negative feedback over time. Tokyo and Paris both have ROA.

Also, MK has room to expand while keeping ROA. Best case would be the beyond BTM footprint for this plan. A true northern expansion will also spread-out crowds which is really needed.

As for Liberty Square going away, aside from political reasons I just do not understand why this is needed. It serves as a perfect transition. Also, the HM will serve as a good transition to Villian's land and not be a good fit for Villian's land.

Cars, probably more than any other IP, is a classic example of "normal people in the real world love it but Disney hardos think it's beneath their contempt."
I think the opposite…they think it’s sure fire meat for the poors and the appeal is not increasing.

The first movie was excellent…everything after has been really cheap and crappy

Probably the biggest example of lack of lasseter

It’s not a good look after they filled in alot of the hub for pointless fireworks space and Didn’t add much water in fantasyland

Gonna be alot of concrete if they’re not careful

Cars 3 was better than Cars 1, the merch sells like hot cakes (not just the toys, but the backpacks and the hats and the blah blah blah). Lightning McQueen is Elsa for boys, still, in 2024.

But yes if you're assembling a team to make Bob apologize to Lasseter and welcome him back into the fold with open arms and a big pile of money, sign me up.

More news and concept art - it is going in Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island:

It’s time to leave Radiator Springs and head west into exciting new locations. To make way for this completely new frontier, the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will be transformed into vast and rugged terrains for a rally race with some of the world’s most iconic racers.

“We are thrilled to create this original Cars adventure and put our guests in the driver’s seat as we—quite literally—explore a new frontier in Frontierland,” shared Michael Hundgen, Walt Disney World Portfolio Executive Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering. “Part of pioneering this new story includes tapping into the themes of exploration and adventure that inspire so many of us to keep propelling forward. Anytime we touch Magic Kingdom, we recognize the massive responsibility that exists to get it right and tell stories that connect with our guests.”

The new area will bring you along for the ride (pun intended) with a brand-new thrilling rally race through the mountains, climbing trails, and dodging geysers, in addition to a second attraction geared towards fun for the whole family.

Ahead of work revving into high gear next year, guests will have plenty of time to experience the charm and nostalgia of Frontierland as it is today.

And cruising just around the bend, guests will be able to venture Beyond Big Thunder Mountain into an all-new land dedicated to Disney Villains. Inspired by the wicked characters fans know and loathe, the multi-acre expansion will include two major attractions, plus dining and shopping. Walt Disney Imagineering is pushing creative boundaries to dark and mysterious levels to bring this new, first-of-its-kind land to life.

Together, these new additions to Magic Kingdom will represent the largest expansion in park history.

While in abstract I hope this is true and would like to see if they can pull this off, they need to batter this ride system to death in testing and simulations to make sure they can get a tolerable ride uptime on it. You can't take a big swing like this and wind up with worse uptime than Test Track.

Had a feeling the funeral announcements were going to start rolling out today after the convention wound down. Here we go.
