Ugh I want to watch the video so badly but I’m at work.

General thoughts from those who watched it?
I think I have been spoiled by Marvel trailers before. This was Meh imo. My hope is the further along we get, the better they get and the more information on her Carol's origin comes out

I think I echo that. It was good. I liked it the more times I saw it. But it did not give away much of anything in the way of plots/villains/etc. Doesn't show a ton of powers or anything like that. Not quite as epic as a lot of the recent Marvel trailers have been.

I’m slowly but surely putting together my Captain Marvel costume and I’m so pumped up for this movie

It was a good 1st trailer. I loved the "hey if you didn’t know this was set in the 90s, here's blockbuster!" I would call this an extended teaser as you still really didn't get a lot of story details. What was shown was extremely cool and holy poop that de-aging tech is crazy. It just keeps getting better and better. Loved the end shot of her.

Some predictions based on what we know and what’s probably presumed:

Jude Law’s Mar-Vell is going to die. Idk how, but my guess is that it happens before Carol crashes to Earth.

Nick loses his eye. Probably to a SHIELD member that we haven’t met yet (who turns out to be a Skrull).

This movie is going to be all over the place timewise. Some bits in the 80s when Carol is a kid/teen. Early-mid 90s for the Air Force. I’m going to guess that CM will mostly take place in the late 90s). And then post-credits will be in the modern day (or whatever year A4 takes place).

Related to the timeline in this movie- something happens to Carol in the mid-credits where she’s going to be frozen in time for 20 years. This could possibly be where the Collector fits into this (adds her to his collection on Nowhere). Post-credits is Carol returning to Earth (with a new crew) and finding half the population gone- along with her new crew.

Maria Lambeau is going to end up dead, a Skrull, or both. My assumption- very alive when Carol leaves Earth, but a Skrull when she returns.

Literally any character who Carol hasn’t seen in awhile (on Earth or in space) is fair game for the Skrulls.

Chewie the cat will be around somewhere.

Possible cameos- Yondu & Quill (depending on how old the kid who played the young version is now), Thanos & any of his Children, Nova Prime, Peggy Carter, Rhodey, Hank Pym, Robert Redford’s SHIELD character (whose name I can’t remember- I know Redford is retired now, but it could be a quick de-aged cameo), any Asgardian (they barely age, it could happen), the Collector, Dum Dum Dugan (a long shot), or a de-aged Maria Hill.

Okay, some things about Captain Marvel (from the comics I have)-
Possible origin that the movie could use:

The woman is a huge Star Wars nerd:

She lives in the Statue of Liberty (I doubt this will happen in the movie):

She’s also a huge flirt (is in a secret relationship with Rhodey in this series and flirted in a panel with Quill).

I love her so much.

Well it is the first time in Brie Larson career of carrying a huge big blockbuster. Hope it works in her favor.
Well none of the current MCU cast carried a huge blockbuster in their pre-MCU careers* and their casting track record has been far more hits than misses. It's seemed to work out really well so far.

*You could make an argument for Zoe Saldana (Avatar/Star Trek), Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness), or Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious).

I'm excited about Captain Marvel and think that Brie Larson will be great. I'm not a huge fan of the computer-altered ages of Fury and Colson, though I understand it's necessary given the time period. It just seems to keep us heading towards a future that I don't enjoy. Still, that's a minor quibble with a movie that I expect is going to be a lot of fun.
