This is why like the leadership at Marvel. They actually get someone worthwhile the vast majority of the time. I can’t say that about DC. This is why I respect Patty Jenkins a lot because she definitely helped cover up deficiencies in Wonder Woman. Gal is a pretty face but actress she is not. Thank you Chris Pratt!

You know, I get why Marvel isn’t doing a massive panel at SDCC this year, but not even having just one for Captain Marvel stings a bit. They could have premiered the poster and the first trailer, just like they did for Last Jedi. Carol Danvers kind of deserves this.

Also, does anyone want to start guessing what other characters might show up (since the movie is set in the 90s)? All of the following would have to be cameos, nothing too major:
  • Tony Stark (my guess is a little unlikely)
  • Obadiah Stane
  • Peggy Carter
  • Hank Pym
  • Maria Hill (more on the unlikely side, given how young Cobie Smulders is compared to Clark Gregg or SLJ)
  • Alexander Pierce
  • Clint Barton
  • Rumlow
  • The Collector
  • Nova Prime
  • Thanos (with or without his children- would have to be a tiny cameo)
  • Yondu
  • Drax (with his family)
  • Howard the Duck
  • Any Asgardian

It feels early for a trailer. When and where did they premier black panther trailers?

The teaser came out June 9, 2017. The movie came out February 16, so 8 months. If CM follows the same track, we’re due for a trailer any day now.

On the other hand, Ant-Man & the Wasp had its first trailer come out with BP, and that was 5 months before it came out.

Uh yuck - DC fails in attempt to be Deadpool funny...good grief.

sorry for stealing the thread ;)
It's like Jimmy Fallen playing Captain Marvel. It wasn't suppose to be Deadpool funny. That is actually how the character was originally. He is a kid in an adult superhero body. It looks true to the original tv show. It also opens it up to a Superman/Captain Marvel vs Black Adam movie.

I grew up watching the original TV show, and it was not this...dorky. Sorry. IMO they are trying to get to the cheeky humor like a deadpool and they failed miserably, I don't like Fallen, but I would watch him over this in a heart beat.

Plot info from EW-

The film sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join the elite military team Starforce on the Kree planet of Hala. (Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck describe Starforce as the SEAL Team Six of space.) Its members include Carol, Korath (Djimon Hounsou, returning from Guardians of the Galaxy), and Minn-Erva (Crazy Rich Asians’ Gemma Chan).

Jude Law plays the commander of Starforce, who views Carol as a mentee and pet project. “These extraordinary powers she has, he sees them as something of a blessing and something that she has to learn how to control,” Law says. “That’s a motif throughout the piece, the element of learning to control one’s emotions and to use your powers wisely.”

The film also introduces one of Marvel comics’ nastiest and most notorious baddies: the Skrulls. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader, Talos, seen here in all his bright-green glory. But he’s got another face, too... As any Marvel comics fan knows, the Skrulls are especially dangerous because of their unparalleled ability to shape-shift. On Earth, Mendelsohn’s Talos goes undercover as a human working within S.H.I.E.L.D. “It’s not easy being green,” Mendelsohn quips.

MCU fans have met the Kree race before in Guardians of the Galaxy, and two familiar faces — Hounsou’s Korath and Lee Pace’s Ronan the Accuser — will appear in Captain Marvel. In Guardians, Ronan is an outcast with extremist views, but here, he’s still a high-ranking member of Kree society.

The film also introduces Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, one of Carol’s oldest friends. She’s a top-notch Air Force pilot with the call sign “Photon,” and she’s also a single mother to a young daughter
