Captain Jack/Blackbeard's Daughter meet n greet

Isn't it interesting that Blackbeard is now in the POTC movie series when Blackbeard was the inspiration for the rides original Captain of the Wicked Wench and when they were trying to tie the ride to the movies they replaced said captain with Barbossa. If only they had waited a few more years they could have had a synergistic thing that would keep both the movie fans and the Ride Traditionalists happy. Just sayin.:lookaroun

one worse than that is the gag they forced into randomly in At World's End.(POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT) The screen goes black and there is ride audio as if you just are coming to the origianl Wicked Wench scene with the blackbearded pirate's audio and all...

and then while this movie was out what was already done? They removed him for Barbossa in that spot. Makes no sense.

I hate this type of mentality.

Why? You didn't want to just go have a good time at the movies? I mean, was it really that bad? That you thought, "... man that changed my entire view on how the Pirates movies can ever be, that sucked! I'm NEVER going to see another one no matter what! Because they'll ALL SUCK!" I mean, who has that type of attitude? If I had that mentality, I would've never seen "The Last Crusade."

Sorry to have offended with my lack of continued interest in the pirate movies. I'll be honest, I'm a bit on the idealistic side with my need for happily-ever-afters. I found the 2nd movie extremely drawn-out without the happy ending I sat thru the entire movie hoping for. I also dislike plots where there's half a dozen ends left untied where it's so totally obvious they're trying to lure you back to spend another $50 to bring the family to yet another of their long, drawn-out movies. I don't enjoy that. At all. If you do, that's cool. I'm glad for you. Believe me, I wish I did, too. I have very little time for movies as it is (didn't even get to see Tangled). When I do take the time & spend the money to go see something I'd really like to have good chances of walking away from the theater feeling good rather than frustrated.

Back to the point of the thread, cool that they're going to do meet & greets with characters from the upcoming movie. Still not seeing that there were any spoilers. The OP gave no info on the movie or the plot.

Ps. I don't enjoy anything superhero related (ie. Batman, Ironman, etc.) either. Suspense aggravates me so I don't watch thrillers or horrors. Action movies tend to wear me out so they aren't high on my list of faves. Told ya, movies aren't my thing so much anymore. If I invest the time to watch one I want to walk away feeling good or having learned some insightful message. I guess if that makes me the biggest oddball ever, well, par for the course. I'm good with that.

My guess is he's objecting to Penelope Cruz's character being referred to as Blackbeard's Daughter. I, for one, didn't realize she was related to the villain. But I'm guessing it's not much of a spoiler. Seems like most everyone else knew this or had it spoiled in even the most high level plot summaries.

In all the bickering over spoilers, I think an important point may have been missed. Someone who has a passable resemblence to Penelope Cruz will be posing for M&Gs!!

Is it too much to hope for an Elizabeth Swan M&G as well...

Also, expect Luke's father to be around for meet and greets during Star Wars Weekends. He also will participate during the Jedi Training. Oops, I think I said too much.:lookaroun

Do people really know who the characters in the movie coming out are yet? Especially the kids, I wouldn't expect them to know her I bet.

I've often wondered this myself. It seems sometimes the characters come out for meets before the movies release. I think maybe it's a way to get guests to relate when they do get to see the films. For littler kids and animated features I imagine it's like the same reasoning behind when Nick Jr used to play the same episodes all week: it's empowering for them to recognize the characters or the plot.

The OP said that it would start this summer, and I believe the movie comes out in May. By then, millions of us will know any and all of the new characters! :animwink:

Oh No! You totally ruined it for me! You spoiled my whole enjoyment of this movie!

..... Really? Really?! C'mon guy.

Also.... Although the 3rd one was very long, It was still enjoyable. The 1st and 2nd ones were great. If you can't enjoy the great action scenes, good monologue and great storylines, then shame on you. It's a huge blockbuster in the box office and for a good reason. I don't get how anyone stops watching them after the 2nd one.

Maybe they will bring back the original captain now?

Also, thanks for the spoiler OP.
