Yeah, let’s get back to talking about whether this is going to limp past $400M WW, and if so, by how much.
FWIW, Sonic 3 earned $486M WW, and $235M domestic.
Sorry can't use Sonic 3 here that was already done with Mufasa, as Sonic was mostly out of theaters by the time this movie came out.

There will always be some movie that does better than another movie, that is just the nature of the business.

Now will this movie move into its theoretical profitability range, maybe, as that remains to be seen. Will it be seen as a disappointment overall, yes more than likely. But if it does move into profitability during theatrical that will be a small sigh of relief for many at Marvel as they look to Thunderbolts in a couple months and then F4 after.

Agreed on feige right now for sure. But personally I don't think Kennedy deserves a free pass for star wars. As I've said, her past producing credits speak for themselves. But when you look back on what she's done at Lucasfilm, there's definitely more negative than positive. It's not like there's not a good enough sample size. It's been 13yrs and the output is there to judge as well as the lack of output.

Personally the vast majority of her criticism for how she's handled the company is spot on in my opinion. So I'll give her pass and not discount what she's done in the past like some people are doing. But I think we're well past the point where we can say she wasn't right for lucasfilm.

Like I mentioned, I can see the logic. But the measuring stick on KK is not how she lives up to Feige. It’s how she’s doing compared to most external producers.

I’m not saying it’s currently stellar or exceptional, historically she was in partnership with Spielberg. But it is still generally above average. Force Awakens, the last Jedi, Rogue One and Mandalorian are sizeable financial achievements.

Now that said, do I think she’s a good Star Wars steward? Not really, no. She acts far more like a producer with openness to talent than the great orchestrator than Feige has solely figured out. Everyone wants a pseudo creative in the role.

But in terms of producers, if you generally once hit the top earner of the year per decade, you are quite shielded. Maybe the standards aren’t high enough? That’s all I’m getting at, even under Lucas Film her track record is above industry average.
