Hi. I have a few questions about the Candlelight Processional.

How do you go about getting good seating for this?
Do I need a PS?
Is this once per night?

Thanks for the help, and if you have any more info please tell.

Usually 3 shows per night.

Only guaranteed seating is to do a Dinner Package (3 levels), cheapest around $35??? Most World Showcase restaurants as well as The Garden Grill have this. It's just different tiers for the different restaurants.

You also get a nice little VIP badge for your showtime, but there are still lines (be there at least 30 min. before show to get a good seat) as well as a 20% discount on merchandise for the night at Mousegear???

Otherwise, it's stand in line for about 1 hour to maybe get a seat depending on the time of year. Between Christmas and NYE, I've had guests wait for 2 hours and not get a seat before.

One of the packages is definitely the way to go.

Have you ever had trouble getting seated with your package? In 2002 we sat in the rain on xmas eve. We got there with plenty of time, and there were seats still available under the roof, but the CM wouldn't let us in even with our badges. Do the different tiers also decide where you can sit? We had the lowest tier, tried to get a character meal in (GG) with the package. Many of the people seated out of the rain had gold badges, ours was yellow.

The performers list generally seems to be released on or around Labor Day (maybe a little before), but even then it's still "subject to change." For the past couple of years, Gary Sinise has been the narrator on the week right after Christmas. The 2 years before that, it was Levar Burton. We got to see it about 6 years ago where Sandi Patti was the narrator- she sang with the chorus and it was the most magnificent thing I've ever heard!

Unless you have "connections" that can get you on the VIP seating list, I think the Priority Seating package would be the way to go. Otherwise, I would have a hard time justifying standing for 1 to 2 hours to see the show... but like someone else mentioned... you've gotta eat sometime! Why not book the package and have a nice meal before going to the show. ENJOY!

Here's the info for last year from AllEars.net
For 2003 there are three different levels of pricing for the Candlelight Processional Package:

Tier 1
Adults - $28.99 / Child (3-11) - $10.99
Includes full buffet, beverage (no alcoholic; no specialty) and gratuity
The Garden Grill Restaurant - The Land
Biergarten - Germany
Restaurant Akershus - Norway

Tier 2
Adults - $34.99 / Child (3-11) - $10.99
Includes soup, salad or appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage (no
alcoholic; no specialty) and gratuity; children order from children's
menu
San Angel Inn - Mexico
Restaurant Marrakesh - Morocco
Nine Dragons - China
Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room - United Kingdom

Tier 3
Adults - $41.99 / Child (3-11) - $10.99
Includes soup, salad or appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage (no
alcoholic; no specialty) and gratuity; children order from children's
menu
Chefs de France - France
Coral Reef - Living Seas
L’Orignale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante - Italy
Le Cellier Steakhouse - Canada
Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Dining Room - Japan

Notes:
Gratuity is included.
Prices do not include 6.5% tax.
Dinner packages do not include park admission.

So really which tier is best only depends on which restaurant you like and what your budget is. There's no difference in your seating at the Candlelight Processional among the different tiers.

We went last year and did the first CP show and then had dinner in Mexico. It was a great night and we hope to go back this year and do it again.

Yes it does. Make sure that you allow yourself at LEAST 2 hours for dinner or plan on doing the Candlelight Processional first, then dinner afterwards. Also I prefer the last two shows as it is darker and so the lighting shows up a lot better. Just my humble opinion!! Belle

This wonderful event is held in EPCOT and is included with the price of admission, unless you go for the dinner package. In the America Gardens Theatre a 50 piece orchestra sets the stage by playing some instrumental Christmas music. They are shortly joined by the Voices of Liberty (From the American Pavilion) as featured singers. The show continues with the addition of a 500 person chior. A featured guest speaker comes out, usually a celebrity of some note, and they proceed with a retelling of the Christmas story with music that is matching to the story being read. It is about 1 hour and is probably one of the most magical things at Disney during the Christmas season. Please keep in mind this event starts the day after Thanksgiving usually and continues through New Years. An excellent time to visit the world for this is the first 2 weeks of December as the crowds are VERY low. Hope this helps!! Belle

When I was a cp I saw the show a few times and I don't think I ever waited 1-2 hours. Probably 30 minutes, maybe 45 minutes, was all I waited. If you go to the latest show, it's not too hard to get a seat most nights. This is kinda like the parades and fantasmic where the later showings are generally less crowded. Obviously popular nights like christmas eve are probably different (I wouldn't know I had to work). They also (I think) let you know when you got to the point where you may not get a seat, so you can choose whether to take the chance or not. I could be wrong about that though.

Always go for one of the last 2 shows. It is darkest and thus more magical and special with the lighting schemes. But the story told is special enough! :king:

We did not want to pay extra for a restaurant just to get a guaranteed seat. We have a tradition where we always get foot long hotdogs with many toppings. Thus we got in line for the second Processional, about 60 mins before, were within the first 100 people waiting, and my dad and I got hotdogs and dinner and brought it back to the line where we sat on benches and ate. (We asked the CMs on duty--we were allowed to leave the line, hold places, and get right back in line.) So everything worked out really good.
