Cancellation Policies

Does anyone know if Disney is going to put a dining cancellation policy in place? I was on their website looking at restaurants and saw the following notice on a few of them.

A cancellation policy applies and may result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. Specific policies related to this facility will be detailed at time of reservation booking.

I was looking specifically at Boat Wrights Dining Hall, Grand Floridian Cafe, Captains Grill (at the Yacht Club) and Tony's Town Square - all of which had that policy listed. (The Wave did not have it)

Then I called the dining reservations line and the agent there told me that there were no cancellation policies for these locations but couldn't explain why it was on the Disney web-site.

I'm wondering if it's just poor web-site management or preperation for things to come.

They are more than likely referring to Cinderella's Royal Table. You have to give a CC# to reserve there and cancellations inside of a particular time frame (I think it is 24 hours but I am not 100% on that) or no shows result in a financial penalty.

I knew about having a credit card to hold Cinderella. I was just really surprised to see the policy listed under the other restaurants, especially the non-signature establishments.

I went to the site and checked and noticed the same thing. I saw it under Boma, Crystal Palace, 50's Prime Time, ect. I didn't see it listed for some place such as Teppen Edo and several others.

When I made my ADRs I was only told about the cancellation policy for CRT and for the Fantasmic Dining package. The only other time I was told about a policy was for Akerhaus. I think it would apply to any ADRs that are secured by a CC so I guess dinner shows apply as well.

Any time you make an ADR and they ask for your cc# to hold the reservation. You will be charged for cancellation if you cancel within 24 hours of the reservation or no show. They tend to do this only for the super popular places like BBB, CRT, some character breakfasts (not all), dinner shows, and of course signature restaurants.
