Canadian Lumberjack Show to open at Epcot's Canada Pavilion in early October

Wait a second... Disney wanted to be environmentally friendly with the Illuminations fireworks and therefore got rid of the screamers...

So now they have a lumberjack show that is going to do what else... kill more trees... Which isn't really environmentally friendly...

Anyone else see a problem here? o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O
Yes, the screamers need to be put back into Illuminations posthaste.

Also... Since they found a way to put a real ice rink in DHS for the Frozen crap, why can't we, instead of a lumberjack show, have an NHL experience!

It sticks with the Canadian end of things and I'm sure it'd be more popular than a lumberjack show. At least that would be a fun interactive experience.
That would be utterly awesome. But first, the Canadian pavilion would have to acknowledge the existence of the Edmonton Oilers who are conspicuously absent from any of the retail shops there, unlike Montreal, YYZ, Winnipeg and Vancouver. (Calgary and Ottawa can stick it anyway)

HAHAHA... The Maple Leafs are so bad you haven't even acknowledged their existence!!! LOVE IT!!!!! At least the pavilion could have an excuse for Edmonton....

I keep seeing the logic of "well I can see a lumberjack show at a local fair" posted. Yet, Off Kilter were no more than a pub band, easily found in nearly every bar in America (and elsewhere).

Let's not act like it was an experience found nowhere else. I'm not crazy about either act honestly, but I'll just be glad to walk around WS without the obnoxiously loud music. Time will tell how obtrusive chainsaws will or won't be.

Find me another band like Off Kilter featuring a master bagpiper that plays a mix of traditional and current songs. The fact is they exist in rarity and Off Kilter offered the chance to see that.

Argue the subjectivity of liking bagpipes, but not the fact that you can find that type of band at the local bar. That's simply not true.

Yes.

That you're wrong about the reason why the illuminations fireworks changed. Nothing to do with environmentalism & everything to do with supplier issues

I can back Marie up here. As soon as I heard I called one of the guys. He was gutted and couldn't even talk about it. His wife was almost in tears. I spoke with her yesterday and she said that they are still in shock and that it's surreal to think that he won't be back on that stage.
Going back to the question as to if Off Kilter resigned, we were discussing that within the Save Off Kilter group on Facebook and again one of the permanent members of Off Kilter stated that this was Disney's decision alone. In addition two of the members of MoRockin' said the exact same thing. Also if any member of one of the groups wanted to resign a substitute would be found and the band continue. Even if the band wanted out, why terminate 4 separate acts??? Nope this is pretty clearly Disney's decision. Marie

I love Off Kilter and always try to arrange my Epcot time to catch their show at least once. I'm sad to see them go. But I'm reserving judgment on the new show. All we know is they're calling it a lumberjack show. But the first time I heard someone describe OK it was basically "a rock and roll band with bagpipes" and I gotta say that didn't really sound like something I'd care about. Hopefully this lumberjack show will exceed my expectations too.

Haven't read the thread, but i'm sure it's full of complaining, lumberjack jokes and people still bitter about losing Off Kilter. Any actual useful information in here?
Very true! Any act following Off Kilter would be tough. At least these guys have chainsaws to fend off the hostile crowd.

That's the wisest thing to do. I'll miss Off Kilter, but entertainment does need to rotate regularly to keep things fresh...

...except for the Voices of Liberty. If Disney touches that, God will strike down SSE with lightning. (And, being improv, World Showcase Players should have stayed, too.)
