Pioneering the Universe Within!
What. A. Joke.
I doubt Barenaked Ladies are that busy these daysGood find, but how many Canadians know this, or think of it as Canadian?
As far as Celtic music, very east coast and many Canadians would identify it as such. I guess it doesn't really matter in the long run. It's really hard to find entertainment that represents Canada.
Maybe move Cirque from Dtd to here
Sure, and we can go back and forth on 'origin', but my friend...Paul Bunyan IS American in every sense of the word...c'mon. Anyway, lets move on shall we...I don't mean to suggest that it is 100% guaranteed that Paul Bunyan was a Canadian based folk tale. But, the origin of folk tales are not cut and dry. He was based in logging country. Many articles point to a potential source as French-Canada.
Many point to Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota, and any number of other places. There are no fewer than 6 places in the US where you can go see large statues of Paul in towns that claim his "birth".

All that aside, I doubt Disney put a second of thought into this fact when they booked the lumberjack act. They likely went "We want lumberjacks, oohhhh, look, there's an outfit local! I wonder how cheap they would work!"
As long as by American, you mean in the true sense. He is North American. Just like the people in South America consider themselves American.Sure, and we can go back and forth on 'origin', but my friend...Paul Bunyan IS American in every sense of the word...c'mon. Anyway, lets move on shall we...
NOOOO"I wanted to be... a lumberjack!
Leaping from tree to tree, as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia."

I could at least see the point of bringing Cirque over, that makes sense. I still would have been sad but at least a quality act would be taking over. This?? I dunno. Marie
Always count on @George to be fast on anything involving dressing in women's clothing and hanging around in bars...
At least Cirque is authentically an act that did originate in Canada. It does have a great diversity in it's artists ethnicities similar to what I have been told about the cultural diversity in Canada. Again at least this would be understandable. I just don't think this new lumberjack act is impressive enough to fill the shoes (or kilts) of Off Kilter, sorry. MarieCirque is Canadian but it does not represent Canada, I would say they represent the evolution of street acrobats than anything else.
