Can you request a gift or 'surprise' be brought up to your hotel room???

So I've heard of people requesting 'surprises' be brought into your room before you get to the hotel (i.e. fruit baskets).

How easy is this and are there only certain things you can ask for? How does this work?

Nothing can be placed in your room before you arrive, except possibly when you are staying on the concierge level, as your room assignment isn't finalized until you are standing at the front desk.

Heading for the great escape.
Well they must have been quick getting my gifts into the room by the time I walked there from reception. The eldest Sak also had he 21st pressy waiting in the room when she opened the door.

No freebies, but we have used the WDW Florist on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. And yes, the stuff can be there as you walk thru the door.

Just be aware though if you arrive at the front desk and they offer you a room - and you have arranged something ahead of time - then that room is probably where the items have been delivered IF they delivered them in advance. If you don't like the room they are giving you while you are checking in and ask them to find a room with a better location, and they move you, it may take time for the items to be moved - and you may not receive them until later that day.

They will NOT leave items with alcohol in the room - someone of legal drinking age must be present for those type of items to be delivered.

Getting to the resort front desk is no problem. Getting to the room can be a bit more difficult depend on where and when and how long.

For the most part, it takes some extra magic to have it in your room before hand (if you check in and go directly to the room).

I spoke to disney florist and she said that is "not possible" to have anything "in the room prior to arrival". I was told that all in room "celebrations" or surprises are delivered the 2nd day, because they don't know which room you will be assigned until after check-in. I asked - even if you do online check-in - and the reply was that even if with that the room is not assigned until we arrive. So, for those who did get the surprises in room at arrival - you must have had some extra pixie dust somewhere!

I ended up having to plan my own surprises, including buying the items, and will have to divert the family while I set it up... ugh. Very disappointed.

Then this must be a change in policy and not very good to hear at all
