Can we talk about comfortable shoes?

Keens are the ultimate Disney and warm weather travel footwear IMHO, they are as comfortable as a sneaker and as cool as a sandal but still protect your toes from wayward strollers. They dry quickly and are wearable in water. They are my favorite WDW footwear but also when I am traveling in the tropics or desert climates.

And to second another poster, body glide is fantastic for blister and chafe protection.

I really like Abeo. The Walking Store has sneakers that they insert their specialty orthotics or supports into. They save my feet for hours of walking. And I also recommend moleskin. I have friends that live by it to avoid blisters.

So.....a week from tonight, I will be on my last WDW night after a Monday arrival.........grrr

ANNNNNNNNNNNNYWAY, does anyone have any suggestions on comfortable walking shoes?

In the past, I've done Sketchers GoWalk, but after many years, I must get a divorce. They are like the shoe that I married many times but they just keep slapping me in the face. They are always cheaply made and start falling apart soon after a trip.

I'm not looking at Crocs or sandals, but other than that, if anyone has a brand that is a good walking shoe that lasts longer than a few weeks, that would be great to hear about.

Thanks!

Lots of comfortable shoes out there but I have found that walking up to 7 miles in a day (what I find I average while at Disney) is going to result in sore paws no matter what you are wearing. My suggestion is to actually find TWO pairs of shoes. What I bring is a comfortable pair of runners/sneakers and my Ecco walking sandals. I alternate days wearing each. This way you are putting pressure on slightly different points on your feet and prevents hot spots that can end in blisters. You could also keep your favourite shoes and just invest in a really good quality insert, that’s the part I have found wears out the quickest.

I will toss in a specific recommendation though. I have a pair of New Balance 610’s that are great for walking. They have a wider base than shoes meant more for running.

No matter what you buy for walking shoes, make sure you've worn them for at least a week before you use them in the park. If they're not well broken in you can still get blisters and sore feet no matter how good the brand is.

I found taking 2 or more pairs of sneakers and do a rotation to make sure I'm not wearing the same shoes 2 days in a row. Even if they're the same brand each pair wears just a little different on my feet and I find I don't have foot issues. When I would only take one pair there would always be that one place that would hurt after about the 2nd or 3rd day.

This is a tip I give to everyone regardless of the shoe. It's a must to have multiple pairs.

I've loved my Nike Fingertrap Max but they have since been discontinued so I switched to the Nike Skylux and they are amazing. You can get pure white ones and change the laces to certain colors to match your outfit. (Or at least I do...lol)

I must day that Skechers are my families favorite. My husband has problems with his knees and caves when he walks or stands alot & I have Fibromyalsia & back problems. When we went this summer, I asked around in a disney group on facebook and I see that many people wear Crocs. My husband bought a pair and wore then the entire week we were there. They were the Crocs Swiftwater. http://www.cabelas.com/product/CROC...VFAeGCh2V0w6xEAYYASABEgL9ePD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

My daughters & Mom like Clarks. Merrell is another good one. But I must agree with the ones that have suggested taking more than one pair and switching out. I had 4 pairs that I took. All of them were Skeckers but it worked out great. Have Great time :)

I have extremely flat feet so I have to be very careful about my shoes. My go-to saving shoe for all-day wear in the Disney parks are my Keen H2's. They offer toe protection as well as good arch support. They are water proof and really hold up well. If they get wet, it is easy to wipe out the foot beds to help avoid blisters. I tried Crocs, Birkenstocks, and my running shoes (Brooks Beasts). While my running shoes are great for running, they sucked when they got wet and I would still have sore feet at the end of the day even if they did not get wet. My Keens are my warm weather footwear anytime I am not at work. I wear them from March through November.
Enjoy your trip!
