Can we make a formal petition?

What are the chances of us creating a firm yet fair list of new policies that disney should adopt while still being a great place to visit and not using any thing more than what is in place for people to enforce what we think?

Then take it one step further and having a list of signatures and submitting them?

I am (as well as alot of you) are kinda of tired of guest running over people with strollers and electric scooters, taking video and flash pictues that ruin the ride, having people reserve spots in line then having a group meet up with them when they hit the front. Its fine when you can revisit the parks year after year but what about the family who blew there saving for the past five years to come to WDW for a few days and had alot of things ruined because of these?

I agree with a lot of what you said....but you probably just opened a HUGE can of worms....prepare yourself to not get such a warm reception to this thread. There have been several threads on each of these topics and it always turns into the whole moral issue and what one person perceives as wrong the other person has no problem with.

I really don't think there is anything that can be done.

Yeah in no way are you wrong but there is seriously nothing that can be done. I too hate being ran into by people who smell from other countries. Honestly what can WDW do? Post a sign at the gate like swimming pools do that say "You must shower before you enter".

Afterall if WDW IS so magical cant they just magically make it stop?:drevil:

What you do is you purchase some stock from Walt Disney Co., and you and other stockholders post a petition if you have a majority of the holders of stock in agreement you are then the company and have full force.

Well I am one of those scooter drivers and believe me it's the people that decide to cut across in front of me that get hit those scooters don't have traditional brakes you take your thumb off the power and they stop but not on a dime. This June One guy trying to get through a tight section before me literally threw his 5 or 6 year old son in front of me. I had to hit a construction barrier to avoid hitting him. Other people walk sideways into the side of me

Most scooter drivers are careful. But when you have hundreds of other guests running like crazy people to get where they want to go, they do LEAP in front of scooters. And most people don't know that scooters can't just stop on a dime.

I would LOVE to see the rules that Disney does have in place enforced. Get some tough folks to yank line jumpers out of line and toss them out of the park. Make people slow down and stop running all over. Confiscate cameras from folks who just won't stop taking flash pics where they aren't allowed.

Problem is, that first you have to put up a WHOLE LOT of ugly signs. Not something we want to look at. Then you have to get ugky ONSTAGE with those breaking the rules. Not good for appearances.

SO what we need is a way to enforce these rules without ruining the fun for everyone else. I can't say that I have any ideas that would actually work.

I totally understand where you're coming from and would like to see changes BUT Disney will never be able to "police" them -

Scooters and strollers - you'll never stop a road traffic accident out on the roads and highways of this planet so you've no chance of preventing pedestrian accidents within WDW. Who is going to say that person A rammed persom B deliberatly or that it was a complete accident, or person B shouldn't of stopped where they did so person A couldn't avoid them ??

Flash photography - Yep - its pretty annoying - but how many times has your camera flashed when you thought you'd turned it off (or not flashed when you wanted it to) ??

On the above two you'll never prove whether it was accidental or deliberate :(

However, line busting - this is something that can be policed. But Disney must show zero tolerence and stamp it out completely. By doing this you then discriminate against the family with the toddler, who after 40 minutes stood in line must go and use the bathroom. Does the entire family then leave the line or do they flip a coin to see who takes the toddler and then have to line up again from the back ??

While your suggestion is admirable, the solutions are just too impractical for Disney to monitor. Which is a shame

Sort of along the lines of 'line busting', I hate it when I've been sitting out in the sun for an hour in a great curbside spot, waiting on the parade and 5 minutes before it's to begin, people push their way in between you and your family cause they spot a half inch of vacant space. I didn't sit here all this time for someone to 'squeeze' into my space. Or the "excuse me" you hear from behind you and someone is directing their kid to come around and stand beside or in front of you. If you or your children wanted to sit right down front, you could of come and got yourself a seat an hour ago, like I did!!!! I don't mean to be 'mean', but if I can seek out my spot and wait for the parade, other folks can too...

I've been lucky and never 'run over' anyone with a stroller yet, but am thinking of a way to have it make a noise or something for our next trip so people can hear us coming. Maybe some Tink type bells, nothing too annoying but just enough so that people are aware of whats around them, as thats usually the problem - no one hears em coming then you get the skin taken off your ankles when you step back lol!

I wish it was so easy my old scooter is an older chain drive model and it makes noise but people are just too excited about being in Disney to notice even a noisy scooter. I have a new one now and it's silent so I figure I will have more problems when we go next year

Even worse are those who up to you from the "roadway" and sit down in front. Then when the CMs come along and ask them to remove feet and legs off the road, they just shuffle back like they own the place - giving filthy looks if you stand your ground and don't move for them :mad:

People will always bend the rules. How many of us drive at or below the exact speed limit all the time?

Plus, when has anyone ever cared about a petition on the internet? It's laughable.

Someone who experiences a ride next to someone taking flash pictures is not going to say "I'm never going to Disney World again because of that person flashing their camera!" But if the person flashing the camera gets in serious trouble for their behavior, then they probably WOULD never go to Disney again. That's less money in Disney's pocket.

What are the chances? Zero.

Rather than toil under the delusion that you have the power to change other people's behaviour to create for yourself the perfect vacation, might I suggest you modify your expectations and look for a great vacation instead of a perfect vacation? If you can do that, in the end we'll all be better off for it. :)

But if making a list makes you feel better, go for it.

We push my dad in a wheelchair. It's amazing how many people will just STOP right in front of you, with no warning, and you better hope you were paying attention to avoid a collision!! Then they look at you like you're the one at fault!! We usually go when crowds are lighter, so it's not like they can't move over to the side to look at the map or visit. And I also agree with the scooter drivers, in that a lot of people could cut across well ahead of you, but they will just barely miss the wheels of the chair by a couple of inches.

I agree with everyone here. I have had all of these things happen to us. People crowding and literally sitting on our feet waiting for a parade. we had been there over an hr. and some foreign guy came and sat down on our feet. then he gave us a dirty look cause I complained! Had 6 people crowd in front of us standing in line for over half hr. to "join" their party. Had people flash in my eyes more than once. I think we should turn around and just flash in their face several times and see if they quit. as far as a petition, forget it. would take too much monitoring on disneys part.

I agree with the vast majority of everyone on this post. I have seen alot of very rude people at WDW. Most of the time I just let it go and not let it bother me, other times when someone is obnoxiously rude, I usually speak my mind to them.

Unfortunately you can't change other people's minds, asking Disney to "control" these types of behavior would not work out well and could result in policies that even many of us on this site would not agree with.

The only thing we can change is ourselves. Why not sign a petition that states that whenever we are at WDW, we will be kind and considerate to all the people around us, and try to make magical memories for others as well as ourselves.

This would seem to be the best policy. If everyone were a bit more considerate all the time, wouln't that be incredible.

I don't think many problems at Disney are caused by lax rules or changes that need to be made. Much of it is the people who have disregard for the magic others are trying to experience.
