Can two people each pay half of the same reservation?

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to the World for next October and are interested in booking a Magic Your Way plus Dinning package. Would it be possible for one of us to make the initial reservation and pay for half the package and then have the other call and pay the other half? I'm curious if this is possible because I live in Toronto, Canada and she lives in Gainesville, Florida. Both of our names would be on the reservation. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

As long as both your names are on the reservation you won't have a problem. I put down our initial deposit and my boyfriend paid the balance. Have a great trip!

I dont think it would be a problem. If you call up with a ressie number and a credit card, I dont think Disney really cares whose name is on the credit card as long as it is valid.

Question: Do you have to pay for a package before arrival? Can't you pay a 50% dseposit on one card, and have the other person pay the balance on arrival? Or is the "balance on arrival" option only valid with room-only reservations?

Room only. Any package requires complete payment in advance. Something like 20 days out I believe.

To clarify...

Yes, as long as you book the package more then 45 days prior to arrival, you can pay 1/2 when you book and have your girlfriend pay the balance on a separate phone call, just be sure the balance is paid by the due date of 45 days prior to arrival.

All vacation packages require a $200 deposit within 14 days of booking and must be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival. If the balance is not paid by the due date, the reservation can be auto-cancelled by the system with a $100 penalty applied.

Note, anyone can pay for a reservation as long as they know the reservation number and one of the adult names on the reservation. The credit card holder does not need to be listed on the reservation.

We however can not disclose any other information about a reservation or make any changes or cancellations requested by the caller / credit card holder unless the caller's name appears on the reservation as either a Guest in the room or listed as the contact name who initially booked it, and the caller knows the full address, phone number and reservation number of the reservation. This policy is in place for the security and privacy of all of our Guests, so no exceptions can be made to this policy.

If you two are comfortable with one or the other having each others credit card info, they can also just take both credit cards in one phone call - just let the person doing the charge know you need to split it.

3-way calling is also not unusual.

My question is along the same lines. Our situation is kind of confusing. We are having a Grand Gathering. My family of 5 is going down on a Friday. All of the rest of our party members are meeting up with us at WDW on Saturday. My daughter is going to be staying in her grandparents(husband's parents) room Sat-Sat, but with us on Friday night. My Mom is staying in our room.

My daughter is listed on our room and my Mom on my in-laws room because we are getting there a day early and she had to have a park ticket and dining plan pass.

On Saturday, can we have the front desk move her from our room into in-laws room and my mom from in-laws room into ours? Can my Mom's room key (which is also our room key) be linked to her credit card and our room keys be linked to our credit card while staying in the same room?

Sorry for the confusion. Just wondering if I have a flaw in my thinking.

We paid the first night or a minimum to keep our resevation on and then we'll pay the rest once we arrive .

First, when you are on a vacation package, everyone in the room must be booked on the same package with the same ticket options. Once checked in, individual Guests on a vacation package cannot be moved from one room to another in the system. Each room may have one and only one credit card on file for all room charges, and all Guest keys assigned to the same room will be charge to the same card.

Once you arrive however you can unofficially play musical beds all you want. If your daughter is listed in your room but wants to sleep with the grandparents, there is nothing stopping her. Same with your Mom wanting to sleep in your room even though she is listed on the second room.

For room charging, I'm assuming room one is booked with You, Husband, Child1, Child2, Child3, and room two is booked with Mom, Grandma, Grandpa. When you check-in Friday, place your credit card on file for all room 1 charges made by You or Husband (you may also choose to allow or disallow each child to use room charging at the time of check-in.) When your Mom checks-in on Saturday, she can place her credit card on file for all room 2 charges made by Mom, Grandma, or Grandpa.

The Walt Disney Company Cast Member Discount Offer is a room-only offer, not a vacation package. Room-only reservations require only 1 night's lodging plus tax to book with the balance due upon arrival. You were told correctly.

One more question for you JP. I understand everything you said above, and I was wondering if we can get just a plain key card that is not linked to anything but to open the hotel/hotel door as an extra for my mother and my child?

Thank you for all of your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Absolutely, although if you have booked a package, generally they will put the park admission on the key card as well. Have a great time!! Belle

Officially...

For both Guest and Cast security, only the Guests listed on the reservation can be issued a key card for the room. Extra keys cannot be issued, nor can key cards be programmed to open more then one door. From my understanding, this is a very strictly enforced Resort policy.

The only exception to this policy is if 2 adults and any number of children are booked on one reservation with two connecting rooms, then both adult keys will open both doors, and the children's keys will only open one door.
