My girlfriend and I couple of years ago dressed as scarecrow and the wicked witch of the west. During Halloween and walked around the world at Epcot. Dozen of people asked for our picture and none of the mangers said anything to us.

Those aren't considered Disney characters either. If you had of dressed as Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin it would have been a different story.

The dress codes at WDW are pretty insane.

You cannot wear a tuxedo nor a wedding dress but you can wear distasteful, too revealing, vulgar clothing.

As long as you cannot be confused with a cast member...just about anything goes.
It specifically says you can not wear vulgar or revealing clothing.

One year I was wearing a Hawaiian shirt with unbuttoned to the third button and a CM walked by and said "Get it buttoned up." ?! How else are people going to see the necklace I bought at Rockin' Roller Coaster?!

And you're also vacationing at the wrong place. Disney World is the one place where it's okay for adults to dress up as a princess, or a mouse, or an Arabian prince, or a dwarf. I would dress up for the Halloween parties if it wasn't so darn hot when we go.
Perhaps it isnt the place to dress up because by other, more knowledgeable posters than me, replies you arent allowed to.;)

You should be fine. I have seen several over the yrs dressed in outfits thst are so close you woukd think they were the characters. We got pictures with some that looked like the hitch hiking ghost last sept and mary poppins in 08. I will get pictures when I get home up of the characters. If they ask you to leave then they would have to ask others too.

Only if you wear something on your face that could seriously mistake you for minnie mouse if not you are totally fine.
