I was rather iritated when I heard about the new Digital Rebel. I just got mine not that long ago!

Oh, well. It's still the best camera I've ever had, outside of the old Nikkon lender that we had in my photography class back in High School (1998). Guess it shows that you shouldn't be afraid of buying stuff cause something better may come tomorrow.

A DSLR is short for Digital Single Lense Reflex--it's like a 35mm film SLR but only digital, Two of the most popular brands are Nikon and Canon

As far as a good one to suggest as far as a 5mp camera with more than 3x zoom, l own a Kodak DX7590 5mp,10x zoom, and the colors from it are amazing to me,and battery life is good too can get about 400 +/- pics before replacing battery. Here's the link to kodak, www.kodak.com ,look under high zoom cameras. Good Luck

Hey dave, sorry, I just saw this. The 10-22 is actually a pretty decent lens. I ended up not buying it though. It didnt have the severe barrel distortion I assumed it would have. It actually was impressive at the wide end for a non-L lens. It wasn't excellent, but it was more than acceptable. My only beef with it was focusing. As in the 28-80 kit lens that came with a Rebel 2000 6 years ago focused faster and more consistently. That said, I decided to at some point get the 12-24 f4 Sigma since it will work on film bodies also and that extra half stop should help cure some of the focusing issues. But having that 16mm super wide end on a digital was nothing short of amazing.
