calmness

Before this board was remodeled it used to be pretty wild. Then when the remodeling was completed and I joined in it still was kind of crazy. But it seems it has calmed considerably.

I remember I used to get hostile replys for some of my posts.

I mean it wasnt that bad but im sure you people know what im talking about.

Im glad its a very open and relaxing environment now.

Ive been on some other discussion boards for other topics besides disney and they are out of conrol terribly.

Everytime im on this board it reminds me of my days in walt disney world.

anyways just thought id let u know how i feel.

I think you are remembering the days of WDW critic and Mr. Lightbeer. You are right, the air is a lot nicer lately ( a tad obnoxious, but all in good fun!:animwink: ) I think what happens is when the sad and lonely people who put others down just to make themselves feel better come around, mom, dad, Maria, ducky and the whole lot hunt them down and make them "go away."
I also think the new format and having a section just for chit chat helps. If you aren't interested in the chit chat, just skip it.

Or it could be that "Disney"people are generly happy and fun people.

The hostile nature of this board was the original reason I took a "break" a few months ago (look at the date that I joined...Im old school..heh..gotta love my cheesy flash intro for this site)....I came back to find a much more plesant group.

Now i just need to catch up with the post count....

Beauty, I think a lot of these newer members were lurkers who joined once they felt the love.

No one is getting on MrLightbeer.... some people just didn't get his sense of humor. I hope he's having a glorious holiday season somewhere....

lileonard, NowInc and DisneyPhD are practically opening day members - 5th June 2001 So I am sure they are very well qualified to comment on the history of this board and its members. BTW guys - its great to see you back!!!

People like Lightbeer and WDWCritic made their own trouble here - it wasnt forced on them, and each had their set of warnings, which in some cases were just ignored.

Beauty, it seems that you are happy to mention your Husband (Mr Lightbeer) here often enough - I have seen numerous posts where you have mentioned him. However, when he is mentioned by someone else as the trouble maker that he was, it seems you want everyone else to forget about him.

But I liked this board immediately because of the banter that I saw going back and forth, mostly friendly I think. :lookaroun Suggestive comments are OK, thread drift is welcome, that's a big change from other Disney boards that I've been to.

Anyway I'm new, very new, I got this link from a non-Disney site even. I'm glad that your original people are coming back too, that must mean a lot.

opps sorry Beauty. I too have a husband with a strange sense of humor and who can be a tad grumpy or even eeyoreish at times (this is Mrs. Disney PhD.) :animwink:

Boy I hope by posting this thread about calmness i didnt start any trouble. The pont I was trying to make was just that im glad it isnt crazy like it used to be, before these boards were remodeled i was actually under a different name so i seen it back then too when people were arguing about a fifth park and how the entrance gates to wdw were getting moved or would be a perfect gate for a park, or somn stupid like that

I totally agree with you lileonard about the new board. For those who remember the OLD board..it was like constant flaming and really discouraged a lot of people from posting...

I take it from this comment I'm not allowed to mention my husband. What about my children? I mention them often in my posts too.
Can I just point out that I never mention Lightbeer its always other people that do, I know you only want to remember his bad points but he did contribute a lot to this board and a lot of people did like him. It just annoys me to see people constantly slagging him off when he hasn't been here for almost 6 months. Must be some guy hey
