Work gave me Metroland to translate. It had a tight deadline, I was supposed to get it on Friday and deliver it this Wednesday, because the network was gonna air it next Monday. Well, when the package arrived it had the right script but the WRONG TAPE! So I called them and explained. They said they were gonna check it out. Meanwhile I already had 2 "Inside the Actor's Studio" episodes (Geena Davis and Ben Affleck) to deliver on the 1st (tomorrow). By the end of the day, they told me the network had sent them the wrong tape. They told me to start the translation only with the script while they waited for the right tape. Thing is, I not only translate but also have to set up the subtitles and time them properly. Well, no tape no movie, and no movie no timing. It basically means double the amount of work, since when the tape arrives I gotta fiz the excess words (it can get pretty different, from English to Portuguese, number of words and their sizes and such).

Huge story short, it's Monday, the tape hasn't arrived, they still don't have it, and they're still waiting for the network. I spent Saturday morning and today the whole day working on a movie only with the script (which is MISSING PAGES, by the way), and now they tell me to stop, start on the Ben Affleck thing while I wait for the tape...

I did have a good weekend, Julia slept over, we got to watch Road to El Doradoannd the BTTF Trilogy, but you know how you can never truly rest if you're worried? That's how it went, basically... And to top it all off, it feels like we skipped Spring and went straight to Summer after a freezing week of Spring...

Sorry to hear that things aren't so peachy in the work arena, but it does sound like you have a VERY cool job! That's rare anymore. I absolutely HATE my job, especially since it's not nearly as profitable as it once was. I know it's easier said that done, but try to leave work at work. If you take it home with you, as you say, it will end up eating you up & stressing you out. It's an easy way to burn out fast. I hope things improve for you soon. *hugs*

I've got some much needed excessive number of days off from working at the world, and what do I do?!?!?!

I'm planing two trips to the world!!!

I haven't even gone on the October trip with my friends and i'm busy planning a December trip with my family.

Biggest concern: Commando mentality. I don't know how I'm going to avoid it during MVMCP cuz there wont be lines.. it's too tempting to run around like a psycho... but, as mumsy has reminded me, we're going to soak up the ambiance and get ourselves Christmas spirit.. or she aint paying for the tower room at my holy grail, the Contemporary.

Must stay in Tower
