Call from Disney

I booked to stay with my hubby and 3 children in a Port Orleans Riverside Royal Room for February 18th. The hotel page updated the available date for the royal rooms to March so I began to be nervous over actually getting a royal room. So I called the reservation center a few times over a week, and also the hotel directly and was told if you pay for a certain room type you get it. I still held off on paying the final payment that was due on Wednesday because I thought of switching back to Pop and was trying to make up my mind. I decided to just stick with POR, hope everything would work out, and call up to make the final payment when I got home from work. When I got home there was a message from Disney Travel asking for me to call. So the line you call is an answering service that ask for name, number, and confirmation number and someone will call back. In about 10 minutes I received a call from Guest Services and was told the construction is delayed and the royal rooms will not be completed by my arrival. In my head I'm thinking oh great, and figured it would be a room comp for 1 night. Well the next sentence nearly knocked me off my feet..."At Disney we do not want to disappoint our loyal Disney guest so you will be upgraded to a deluxe resort for no additional charge." I had to let it soak in for a minute, but finally decided to go with Polynesian. She did say Contemporary was not included but named most of the other deluxes as options..I do not remember her mentioning Boardwalk or Grand Floridian. Anyway, I just wanted to post this story because this is one of the many reasons I think Disney is the best!!!!!

That is good to hear. What is even better is I have heard stories like this several times. For all the complaining about Disney that goes on, their service and attention paid to their guests is rarely less than top notch.

Heathrt, now you can book an ADR for breakfast at Kona Cafe, and try the Tonga Toast, or Pineapple Macadamin Pancakes. Also they have O'hana
which is also very good with characters Lilo & Stitch. Also I believe that
Poly has great transportaion options with Monorail, boats and buses being
available. You really caught a lucky break, ENJOY!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, I'm really excited. I'll be rechecking my dining reservations and thinking of trying Ohana for breakfast instead of Chef Mickey's.

That is just awesome and by all means....do breakfast at Ohana's vs Chef Mickey's. I think you will definitely enjoy it much more!
