Yes, on the last page of the D23 update of WDI, Tony Baxter and another WDI-ian "Bruce" a look at a large plot of the land in blueprint form, similar to the Fantasyland Expansion that leaked on the internet. The caption only references the area as a "Drawing of Disneyland", and the identifying title on the pic is covered with a yellow sticky labled... "D23 Land"... Grrrrrr....

Either way, it looks like there's a 7 Scene RIDE in the pic, and the color photo Tony's holding up seems to have a... pink castle... in the distance...? Whatever it is, it's DEFINITELY not Sleeping Beauty's Castle. (It sort of reminds me of the castle walls idea they want for us, except the walls would encircle the WHOLE expansion. The ride would also be directly behind the pink structure... which might mean a Sleeping Beauty ride???)

Is Disneyland ALSO getting a Fantasyland Expansion????

Sounds feasible as there has been a consistent rumor about 1 or 2 dark rides on their way to DL.

Well, I don't know if it would or wouldn't happen but it certainly would be ironic to see California get even more rides in their fantasyland while here in Florida we're still left with a paltry few. : - ) And goodness knows they have the space for at least one if not two rides where the fantasyland theatre is not to mention big thunder ranch.

I would love to see that, especially with a guy like Baxter overseeing the whole thing closely at DL. His park, and himself, sure could use some nice big projects with DCA getting all the attention right now.

Is there enough room back there for an expansion of this sort? I don't know anything about DL and its expansion pads.

Not enough room for an expansion the size of WDW's but there is easily enough room for one or two moderate size dark rides where the fantasyland theatre currently resides. Considering it really isn't being used at the moment except for some meet and greets it would be a very likely location. It is located directly behind Casey Junior and to the west of Small World. There's also a little bit of room near the old fantasyland autopia entrance although I don't think its enough for a ride.

They also could expand into the big thunder ranch area which really isn't used for much currently. That is located right next to the fantasyland theatre. So yeah there is quite a bit of room if they want to use it.

That is great to hear. I have never been there, but DL's Fantasyland sounds pretty awesome from what I have read.

Yes, the rumor is the ranch land is part of the plan. The writing on the magazine seems to confirm this is a new land. I'm also convinced the Fantasyland Forest concept is a definite winner so perhaps this is being used at Disneyland but on a smaller scale. If the blueprint dark ride you can see is forest themed perhaps WDW's FLE is getting a clone instead of the large scale PH. If only we could see the artist rendering better.

Same way we got TSMM and Little Mermaid. Cloning makes it much easier to budget a new addition. And this jives with the PH rumors we have heard.

There is a D23 convention next month too. So hopefully this article is a bit of a hint of a possible announcement.

There is? I thought it was in 2011?!:eek:

Oh my if there is, then that's when they'll be most likely announcing the 40th plans for WDW and finally will be confirming the FLE plans. Most likely.

The Expo is 2011. There is a mini-convention next month in Anaheim. Arond the 20th.
