I think it would be a lot more enjoyable if they'd unmount the guns in the car so you aren't always stuck at the mercy of whoever is holding the spin controller. Besides, with them mounted, you can't even turn very far to the left or right.

I've never ridden Space Ranger Spin but I have no doubt in my mind I'd prefer Astro Blasters here at Disneyland because of the unmounted guns. I also heard the targets don't light up and each target is apparently worth the same amount of points. Give me Astro Blasters.

I agree - unmounted. I feel I can never aim properly. The laser technology is a bit outdated as well now. It's very 90's. Did we ever find out what the "refurbishment" for the next couple days was all about?

Having ridden both versions here at MK as well as DL, I totally love the DL version way better. The guns Unmounted are 50 times better than the ones at MK. So much easier to use and score!

Along with unmounted laser guns, would it also be possible to add a little mist or smoke or something so that we could see the laser shooting out from the gun? It'd be awesome to see where we're actually pointing and shooting.

I'd like to see unmounted too; I'd also like to see the points more linear (from easiest shots to hard/close to far/moving/non-moving) and eliminate those megascore targets.

No way,there's a guy who as tips on what targets to hit for extra bonus points,check him out on google.:)

I could spend all day on the DL one, but only ride the WDW once or twice on a week-long trip. Here's what DL has got over the MK version:

1. Unmounted guns - Makes it easier to find my little laser dot and I can aim wherever I want so I don't have to steal the spinner away from the kids. :eek:
2. Shaped targets - Easy to see the point value. The targets at MK are not all worth the same; they just look the same.
3. Light-up targets for bonus points
4. That "secret" target in one of the hallways between rooms - I always look for it in the hallway before the "speed tunnel" at MK, but am always disappointed.

I think they should make several changes to Buzz Lightyear:

1. Unmount the guns, allowing you a better chance to fire and hit targets.
2. Increase the maximum points allowed.
3. Do as someone else said and add some smoke effects so you can at least see where YOUR laser is going.

The mounted version is essential to incorporate the spin control. I think of it as more integrated rather than a 'free for all' which is what you get with the unmounted guns. Unmounted is simplier and easier. If they unmounted them, they should goto the fixed omnimover rotation.

I like the variation myself. But I really want the targets DL has.. makes a world of difference.

The way it is though, is more challenging. I wouldnt mind seeing different shaped targets so you know which scores higher. But after a couple rides you can remember which scored high and which didnt.
