Buzz Lightyear on-board photos

Do we really need to have an on board photo for Buzz Lightyear? What could be happening that would cause the picture to be funny. Seems to me like another way to cash in on a popular ride. But that's just me

BTW, has this kind of topic been posted before?

Yeah well you're talking about Disney here. I'm suprised they don't have on ride photos of It's a Small World or Living With the Land yet.

Call me weird, but I think having the onride photos here isn't a bad idea at all. If the onride photos show your final score on the ride, then it would be a great way to prove to your friends that you really got a certain score on the ride.

Of course, as somebody mentioned, if the ride stops, then people will have artifically inflated scores, but that may lead to increased sales of photos :)

Yes

Or maybe it's just not your cup of tea, some one not interested in Toy Story or a laser tag like situation might not dig it but it is masterfully done and masterfully themed.

Gary...I kinda feel the same way about it that you do...

Is it a fun attraction? Yes...
Is it a great attraction? Eh...
Is it a dark ride with a bonus? Yep

I know I'm gonna get flamed...but MIB is WAY better...
(Don't get me wrong...I do like Buzz and for the small amount of real estate it takes up...it's very good!)

Well I won't flame you but I disagree. Well, I do agree that Buzz is probably not a great attraction compared to the other attractions at Disney but it is alot better than MIB. MIB is a lame rip off of Buzz, it takes the same idea and adds nothing to it. Maybe you just like it better because MIB is more of an adult theme than Buzz, but Buzz is the better ride.

eh, Doubtful that MiB copied Disney on this one. But Disney did copy other Shooter rides that are already in existence and made it better. Universal did also and made it a major attraction. And of course, we all know that those other rides copied Nintendo's Light Gun games from the 80's, and that Nintendo copied Atari, and Atari copied the Odyssey (I believe). So back to Freak's comment... Universal's is better (much better) and the Disney one is a nice replacement and addition but nothing overly amazing. Are photos a cheap way to cash in on something... they always have been, but at least getting your scores would give you something back in return.

hey.... that actually makes sense! That is a good reason for onboard photos (as long as it shows the score)

hey, maybe they will start stopping the ride intentionally if it increases photo sales :animwink:

Masterfully? It's nicely done, I guess. It just seems.... cheap. Kinda Universal-looking. Or even Six Flags-looking. Except for the queue area, which is excellent, IMHO.

Still, I can nitpick, but I always ride it when I'm at the MK. I just feel a little, well, cheap, by the time it's over.

Let the flaming begin! (as if I'm not flaming enuf already.)

Exactly!

I'm gonna have to chime in and say that this is the only ride that I have gone on where people honestly don't believe how cheap it is. The first time I went on it, everyone that I was with turned to me and said "So what are they really gonna put in there?". Nobody that I know will acknowledge that this isn't a temporary attraction. So, to tie this in with the thread topic, the money being wasted on a gift shop should have been put into this "ride" for improvements. A little less cardboard would be nice...

NO, you're not the only one.

How come they can generate all these "money making" ventures that were never in the parks when I was growing up, yet they still claim they aren't making enough money to maintain the buildings/rides properly?

THATS tacky

The Ride pods need a serious paint job, has anyone seen how bad the paint is wearing off by the guns???

Also, I cant see how they are putting an onride on Buzz but they didnt fit one in on Mission:Space, it dosent make sense!

Comparing Buzz to MIB is like comparing the Merry-Go-Round to Mission: SPACE. One is meant to be a cute minor attraction and the other is a huge 100 million dollar ride. They are both great and yes, Buzz is tacky, but it works for the type of ride it is. Buzz just needs a MAJOR refurbishment. The ride vehicles are incredibly nasty looking.

I hate to say it too but I like MIB more as well. I am not a big USF fan but that was my favorite thing I did when I went last fall.

MiB was the only fun thing in Universal.

I rocked on that ride. I shot the other vehicle so many times that it was parallel with the vehicle behind me at the end.
