I don't understand why they would try to make you put your magic band up to the bus because I thought the buses fee was with the hotel price too.

As long as we keep driving to WDW, I will never ride the bus. We all know the issues with them and since I get free parking why not get to and leave the parks on your own terms.

...if it was ever to happen....

....maybe the nominal charge could be used to hire & employ white-gloved 'people packers' ...like they do at the Shinkansen (bullet trains) stations in Japan. They can push you into the bus ....tucking in all protruding body parts at the doors ....tightening up on all the passenger's "personal space". And they're not rude ...because they wear ...white gloves!!
