BUS DRIVER RUMOR: Disney to start charging for resort buses...

If they want to eat at a resort restaurant.
Why wouldn't they want their car with them, and when you put it that way, it would seem stupid for Disney to not want them to use the transportation, that's going there anyway, to get them to spend more money. Personally I think that the quote is wrong. Someone didn't do their homework. They don't check park tickets anyway, so how would they know if it's one day or a thousand?

Well, it's nice that you COULD change from moderate to deluxe, but some save up for a long time to afford the value resorts. Should they not be allowed FP's and bus service if they can't afford the extra charge? Do you think that they shouldn't bother showing up if they can't AFFORD a higher priced hotel?
The low rent folks hang at Royal Pacific and take a boat to the parks

At which point they become a guest of the hotel and can take the bus. They're not sleeping there, but are a guest for as long as they're there.

Everyone is welcome to use the busses, boats and monorails.

Precious few people who stay offsite will want to use the Disney busses. Most have cars and would rather drive.

But if they want to ride the bus or boat over to the WL or AKL and eat at Whispering Canyon or Boma, they're more than welcome to do so.

The only worry is that people will park at hotels to get free parking in the theme parks. It has nothing to do with riding the bus being some sort of luxury reserved for hotel guests, lol.

Never said anything like that go back and reread! What I said was I would totally understand them getting extra FP 's and not having to pay extra for transportation! Seriously everywhere in the world your ammentities are based on what you are willing to and what you can pay why should Disney be any different.

...LOL you've never been on a public bus in the city during rush hour, have you?

The port authority of allegheny county busses are almost always packed to the point of overflow. You get a seat if you're one of the First stops on the route otherwise you stand and suck it up. Women in dresses, pregnant, men in business suits... Doesn't matter. Shut up and get on the bus. Move to the back. Guaranteed the bus will be jam packed to hazardous levels by the time you reach the hub of the financial district. This is normal life.

Anyone whining at disney about a crowded bus simply doesn't have my sympathy. I'd rather be a crowded bus at wdw any day of the week than a crowded bus in stinking downtown Pittsburgh. Choose your battles wisely.

And for the record, port authority has absolutely no problems with raising bus fares... annually. At least they have that in common with Disney.

That's in a city, not Disney World. In WDW there are different expectations. I've seen shouting and near violence with the way things are now, let alone charging an extra fee to get on. Just saying that this is a bad idea.

This isn't the bus but the monorail. If you came onto Disney property maybe back in the late 70's or early 80's, but you didn't have a park ticket stamped for that day you had to pay $5 to ride the monorail. We were so excited when we got to Orlando one night(staying off property) we just had to ride the monorail and they charged you back then without a park ticket.

I'm not sure you're qualified to be in the gene pool.

Uh, sure, not sure you are qualified to be a keyboard warrior either. Think you can come up with something a little more intelligent? Or would that be asking too much? Like always take it to PM, if you got the man berries for it. Same goes for anyone else that wants to play smartallec.

What Disney may be doing is that building the garages at Downtown Disney, Disney knows people will go there, park for free and take the buses to the parks and resorts. To combat this strategy of parking, Disney will charge for the ride. In the end Disney makes money yet still gets visitors no matter where they park. Those staying on property would likely be exempt.

The problem with this is it will slow down the people moving onto the bus unless you pay at a kiosk and it spits out a ticket like at most train or light rail stations.
