Hi guys!

Just wondered if someone could help. I would like to try at least one of the buffet restaurants next year when I visit. Most of them, to me, look like they are Character Restaurants which I am not really interested in (we are ladies in our mid-twenties!). So I just wondered if all of the restaurants that are buffet style are character restaurant, if not which ones aren't and the ones that are, is that for every meal?

Thanks for your wonderful help in advance!!!

Boma is non character although we didn't care for it.
Trails End is non, but very bland food
I thnk Liberty Tree is going Non after this month
Tusker after breakfast is non
Beirgarten in Germany Non
Whispering canyon is not buffet but can get skillets full of food and be refilled.
Hope this helps some I am not familar with any more since I have not been to them all.

Seafood dinner at the Cap May Cafe. There are plenty of things for people who do not like seafood and the desserts bar is to die for. :slurp:
Boma at the AKL was very good, even my picky kids really enjoyed the foods.
'Ohana is all you care to eat for dinner (they bring it to you like the WCC),
Liberty Tree Tavern will continue with it's all you care to eat meal (served family style), but will no longer have characters (not sure when that changes over though).

We have seen many young people (both men and women) at character meals who say "hi" to the characters, but do not spend time with them.

If it helps at all, as one-half of a middle-aged couple without kids, I normally can't handle being in an enclosed room full of screaming kids. I would rather have my fingernails pulled out one by one--without anesthetic. But not realizing it was a Princess character lunch, my husband and I went to Restaurant Akershus in World Showcase's Norway and it wasn't bad at all. The kids there were very well-behaved, and I even ended up having my photo taken with Cinderella, while I gushed to her, "You've always been my favorite princess!" So much for being a grown-up.

So you never know, you might get caught up in the magic. Oh, and P.S. we both really enjoyed the food. It was a combo cold buffet/hot entree from the menu.

Im in my mid 20's and I love O'hanna.
There's no characters but there is a lady who sings and gets people up to do the conga cheesey stuff like that. Me and my partner sat up at the back so it was quieter and the food is really good. The desert is to die for - warm banana loaf cake and they pour warm caramel sauce over it in front of you.
I didn't like Boma was really let down the food choice is poor.

First non-character places that come to mind are Cape May Cafe (yum) and Hollywood & Vine. There are also family-style places that are great. The main difference is that here they bring you the food (which we prefer). Our favorites in this category are Whispering Canyon, Ohana and Liberty Tree Tavern.

AKLis the best I've had in the last few yrs.Cape May used to be the best before it was downsized.Poly is good.Don't know if is still all you can eat but the Revolving Rest.in the LAND was pertty good.

I know it is for breakfast and lunch. Not sure about dinner. But you girls are going to WDW to have fun, why not partake in a Character meal. Just sit back and watch the kids faces when they see them. I'm 44 and the biggest reason why we go every year is to see the faces of kids having fun and not just my 2 boys. And the kids can be ANY age ( even 44).:ROFLOL:

Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort (all you care to eat) - I would highly recommend this one! :slurp:
Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge (all you care to eat)
Hoop Dee Doo Revue at Fort Wilderness (all you care to eat) - this is a dinner show
Spirit of Aloha at the Polynesian Resort (I believe this one is all you care to eat also) - this is a dinner show
Cape May Cafe' at the Beach Club Resort (buffet)
Hollywood & Vine at Disney Hollywood Studios (buffet)

That's all I can think of.

Hope it helps!
