British Airways Mess Up [Opinions]

I should think that most countries have heard about the goings on at the new T5 [Terminal 5] at Heathrow airport in London. Which was paid for and owned by British Airways.

If not, here's a brief outline. BA [British Airways] decide Heathrow is not big enough. They say the new terminal will have the best luggage system in the world and will have the highest security.

So day before the Queen opens T5, some bloke with a rucksack manages to breach the security and climb the fence and get onto the runway. Then next day the Queen opens T5 and all hells breaks loose. Loads of flights have been cancelled [300 in the first 5 days], baggage is all over the world, some of it they have no idea where it is. And people are at their wits end.

So much for the god knows how much million pound baggage system.

Anyways.... its estimated 40%+ say they have lost faith in BA. Thats the British poll.
So i was wondering about you lot? What do you think?

I've lost more faith in the BAA than in BA, but over many other issues other than this alone

Don't forget the Heathrow T5 brawl between the BA staff. If they're the cheapest option for a flight from Belfast to Manchester, I'll still fly with them... but I'm not going abroad with an airline in that sort of a mess. :shrug:

Interesting you should mention this. My sister-in-law flew through Heathrow on her way back from Prague two weekend ago; her luggage arrived 2 days ago. :lol:

My daughter missed her Rome flight due to delays in the terminal LAST summer (she had 3 & 1/2 hours between flights, and her flight from the US arrived on time; obviously not enough time )

Pam knows that I purposely asked her NOT to book me on a flight through Heathrow (it was an option) and that I would pay more to connect in Germany. :lol:

Yes to both.

When I have to travel to British soil, there aren't any British airports served nonstop from where I live, so I try tofly SJU-MAD-LGW/LCY or SJU-BGI-LGW and avoid both the hassles of connecting in the US and of flying into LHR (although LGW isn't THAT much better.)

Yeh we usually travel with First Choice anyway, after Mum and Dad having a bad experience with them a while back.

I am a Travel Agent in the UK...you can imagine how fun my job's been!

I AM flying with BA to Orlando, but thankfully from Gatwick....I'll be avoiding LHR like the plague for a while!

Would only ever fly BA if the alternative was Ryan Air.

That said BAA must be one of the last run monopoly's in the UK buisness world. Gatwick is a disgrace, and most regional airports would be condemned by the UK travel press if they were an overseas destination.

______ poor management and corporate greed are epitomised by this awful company and their incestuous links with BA, the worlds shoddiest airline. Its easy to see why Virgin wanted to by some of the RAFs closed bases to bypass these terrible twins.
