Trip Report Bring out the Tour Guide Flags.. I’M TAKING THE NEWBIES! A June TR

Jambo once again everybody! :)

I never thought I’d be writing 2 Trip Reports in 1 summer! Well, technically the first TR of the summer was back from January because I was having Disney withdrawal and didn’t think I would be lucky enough to go back this summer… But after an invite at Grandma’s house on Memorial Day and a few weeks later I WAS ON MY WAY BACK TO DISNEY WORLD! :D This time with my relatives who had never been before, hence the name of the TR! The whole time we joked about getting a flag like the lovely *cough cough* tour groups so that in case they fell behind they could still see where I was going;)

Let’s start with the introductions!
I’m gonna do separate pictures cause I thought that’d be easier for now than a big group picture and trying to pick everyone out haha!
I’m not sure if you all know me by now or not so I’ll start off the Roll Call :p

Myself, Rachel (19), Disney enthusiast, volleyballer and Disney College Program hopeful! I also love to laugh and just have a great time with family :)

The Narrator herself by LeCellierLover, on Flickr

My cousin Kyle (18), obviously new to all things Disney (he didn’t want to hear or see anything about it because he wanted to be surprised) and loves, I mean LOVES all things Star Wars!

Kyle and Cinderella by LeCellierLover, on Flickr
This was taken on the trip during his quest to get a picture with all the Princesses :p

My other cousins McKayla (15) and Raven (14), they’re sisters and (obviously) Kyle’s sisters as well haha. McKayla is on the right-hand side of the picture with Raven being on the left. This was taken in their room at home hence all the decorations on the walls ;) Both new to all things Disney, but they looked a lot up on YouTube. McKayla loves all things Anime and her favorite character of all time is Peter Pan! Raven is my mini-me and is obsessed with the show Dance Moms, her favorite character is Tinkerbell!

And last, but certainly not least, the bread and butter of this trip, my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Dan (forever kids at heart that never wanna grow up :D ). They had been dreaming about this trip forever and wanted everything to be a surprise as well. My aunt is up for anything and my uncle is just like Kyle and LOVES all things Star Wars!

Aunt Kathy & Uncle Dan by LeCellierLover, on Flickr
This picture was obviously taken during the trip as well. Their 1st time seeing Cindy’s Castle! :)

So how did I get to go on this trip with my relatives some may ask? Well we always go over to my grandma’s on Memorial Day and my aunt Kathy had asked my mom to help her plan some of the trip (like where to buy tickets, what parks should they do on which days, etc.). Well I kept popping in and out of the room they were in and was gushing with excitement for them. Well, I think my wonderful mom told my aunt how much I wish I was going on the trip with them to show them the ropes and experience everything with them. The next thing I know I was called outside by my mom and my aunt came up to me and softly asked “Do you want to come with us to Florida?!” I SCREAMED with excitement, I couldn’t believe it! I had to ask multiple times “Are you guys sure?!”. Then I was able to break the news to Raven and McKayla and they were STOKED! Kyle’s comeback was “REALLY?! We have to squeeze ANOTHER person in the car?!” and my Uncle Dan laughed and said “Hey the way I see it she’s another driver! :p” So that was that! I got home and plugged the date into the Disney Countdown app on my phone as we anxiously awaited June 22nd! :)

Holy moly that timeshare story made me anxious...I try to have a "go with the flow"/stay generally positive mindset too but I would have gone crazy burning up so much park time on the first park day. I can only imagine how the first-timers felt too! Not fun...

From your signature it looks like this was your first offsite stay...what'd you think about that after so many on-property trips?
Yeah at first I was very set and organized on our schedule, but once this all started happening I knew I really needed to be more "go with the flow" than I already thought I was haha. Yeah my cousins were not happy with all the timeshare junk! But I mean it makes for great stories now and they got money out of it in the end, but I know they would've rather of been in the parks. We talked about what we were going to be doing the next day and then my aunt and uncle would joke "O yeah we forgot to tell you guys.. we signed up for another free breakfast!" and we would all cringe in fear haha!
Actually.. I guess my signature lies a little bit.. My family and I stayed off property back when my brother and I were a lot younger, but we only did it twice off of my dad's friend's timeshare. I prefer on property SOOOO much more! Now I didn't mind this trip because I was just happy and fortunate to be able to go again that I would've lived in a cardboard box on the side of I-4 if that meant going again! ;) Haha! My mom and I actually stayed at a La Quinta off of I-4 two summers ago for like 3 days before my dad and brother met up with us and we moved over to Pop. I just don't like how you have to leave the magic and go into the outside world at the end of everyday. I know that things are a lot cheaper off property and some think you get more "bang for your buck" with having bigger rooms and full kitchens, but for me I would trade that all in to stay in smaller Disney-fied rooms! When I arrive under those gates I just love escaping from reality for that little bit and once you leave and see those regular green highway signs again, all those gross gift shops and a Golden Corral instead of a Le Cellier it just makes me all :hungover::cry: (if that makes any sense..?) haha! My mom and I would sometimes stop to get milk or granola bars from a Publix on our way to Disney after landing from MCO and we would say "Let's get in and out so we can get to Disney!" haha! I know my aunt and uncle would love to stay on Disney property so hopefully that can become a reality for them next time! :)

Just want to say the timeshare stuff would have made me crazy too! :grumpy:
Haha I'm sorry I had to put you through what I experienced :p

I love your trip report so far! Your family seems so sweet :) I can't wait to read more!
Aww thank you so much! After all these years I had never been on vacation with my relatives and it was very special :) More coming up soon!

That timeshare part is the stuff of nightmares. So close yet so far. Great pictures of Animal Kingdom.
Haha I know right?! Ugh I still cringe thinking about our tour guide lady and how she would just not give up! :jawdrop:
Thank you :) and thanks for reading!

looking forward to more... :cyclops:
Soo sorry! I've been a busy babysitter these past few days! :banghead: More coming up tonight! :D

Sorry for the delay everyone.. It’s been a crazy week of babysitting, getting ready for school , and the Bears Training Camp!
I better start stepping up my game though because some great TRs are coming out now! :greedy:

Our FP time for Kali was nearing, but it was only 3pm so not quite yet. We headed over to Kilimanjaro Safari next and were presented with this wonderful wait time! :D

We were handed our second red tag time thingie of the trip. My uncle got handed the first one at the entrance to Bug’s Life and I should’ve played it up to be something huge because they were all so confused! O well ya can’t win em all.. Haha!

We walked right up to the loading area, no 10 minute wait for us! :D
My family has always asked for the back row so I did that again this trip because I knew it would be the best viewing spot for my relatives. We were granted the last 2 rows since obviously all 6 of us would not have been able to sit in 1 row. At first Kyle was freaking out that we would not be on the same ride, but I assured him we would! I noticed people in front of us were having a hard time grasping the whole seat situation too and when to stand behind the yellow line. A family would get on and then the kid from the next family would start to get on with them! Like hello can you not tell that your whole family would not be able to fit on with you?! Let alone the CMs say (a million times) “Stay behind the yellow line!” once everyone that’s supposed to board boards. Haha silly people.. :p

Tink was getting ready to hold on for the rough and tough bouncing around at the end, but I sadly had to crush her dreams and tell her there was no more of that :(

Kyle’s ready! Even though my aunt looks a little.. exhausted?! :p

Kayla’s ready! :D

Whooaa I’m cheesin’ WAAYY too hard, but I guess I was just super excited for our 2 week safari?!

*Warning* Sorry I like to post pictures of the safari. Even though most aren't my pictures I still thought I would do something different and post some since this is a "different" type of TR for me ;)
Our safari started off great, we saw a lot of animals out!

I still cross my fingers every time we cross the old bridge. I wish it would still “breakdown” ;)

Kyle thought the upside down tree was pretty cool!

But then all we saw was barren grasslands.. :(

I guess that’s the bad thing about going on in the afternoon and not the morning (like I usually do). Hardly any animals were out! :( There were no guys on the savanna until the end of it. I think we saw 1 giraffe? The elephants, rhinos #2, and warthogs were out, but there were no lions, and NO ZEBRAS! So at the end of the safari (starting with the non-existent lions) we were just looking at the scenery. I obviously didn’t mind, I thought it was quite strange that no one was out, but I felt bad for my family that had never been on it because I felt like they missed out on A LOT! O well at least different experiences every time means it’s NottaZooo! ;)

My relatives were freaking out over the termite mounds (??)! They were saying “Wow look at those! Those are so cool! How big!” I didn’t have the heart to tell them they weren’t real.. :grumpy:

Luckily we did see this big guy on the savanna! :)

Alright, sorry I need to go run to PetSmart to get my cat food cause we’re all out. She won’t stop circling me until I feed her! BRB :p

Rachel! I started reading this at lunch time but hadn't gotten a chance to finish until now! i love the trip report! It's so cool to see you be a tour to your family and guide them around! It seems like you guys had a ton of fun! Love the Animal Kingdom pics! We didn't get there in May, we enjoyed walking to EPCOT too much staying at the Boardwalk. lol. But we will go there next time! It's just another excuse to go back right?

I noticed there are more animals out in the morning as well. We usually always try to get on it in the morning!

Now does your family know your writing this report about them? hahaha. Mine would probably think I'm crazy so I didn't tell them :p Just Mike knows. but he would probably still go  at some of the pictures I'm posting of him hahaha

I'm so happy that your family is having a great 1st time trip!!!! I bet they want to go back now right? :D

more more!!! :D

Keeper feeding the wartie hogs!

And No @PartOfYourWorld my aunt and uncle don’t know I’m writing this TR, hence why I can put up silly pictures like this! :p Even though I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t care that I put these up because they’re not even half as embarrassing as some of the other things they do! Ya gotta love your crazy, hilarious relatives! :)

After our safari we went over to see if the big gorillas were out, but sadly they weren’t :(

Everyone was starting to get very hungry, but we were so close to the Pangani Trail. I asked if they wanted to push thru and walk the trail. Well only a few (ok only my aunt, uncle and I..) really wanted to walk thru. The rest kind of trudged thru. This was another disappointment :( I love this trail, but again hardly anything was out! We saw some birds, but then next we only saw the fishies instead of the hippo!

After hardly seeing any animals, I had never been so excited in my life to see these meerkats!

We then saw some naked mole rats, but when it came to the grand finale, the big head honcho gorillas, THERE WERE NONE OUT! :( Now I felt terrible for bringing them thru this trail just to see meerkats.. O well we still had some good laughs along the way! :)

So I realized that I was losing them FAST! We searched around the different food areas by Kilimanjaro, but nothing appealed to us in the humidity so we decided on good ole’ Pizzafari! Now the parade was just about to roll thru so Africa was PACKED! I was able to work my way thru the crowd with my family close behind and we were able to get out into the street right in front of the parade! As we made it to the gift shop on the right hand side right after the bridge (heading to Pizzafari) I heard a yell from my family behind me! They were saying that they wanted to watch the parade! Alright sounds good to me! I was just shocked since we were all so hungry, but hey you can never pass up a Disney parade, especially when it’s your first day in Disney!

Once we turned around and found a spot they were literally right behind us!

McKayla was SOO excited to get her first character interaction! :D

Now for my favorite character picture of the trip.. drum roll please..

TA-DA! Unfortunately I can’t give myself credit for this picture (Kyle took it). Call me crazy, but I just fell in love with the crispness and composition of this picture! :inlove:

O I totally understand! Ugh the Boardwalk is just amazing (well the whole EPCOT resort area is)! I love how you're just a walk or boat ride away from EPCOT and HS! :inlove: Haha yes AK is totally an excuse to go back! I always find excuses (this trip it was me not getting some certain souvenirs I had my eyes on so I of course have to go back and get them in Disney! Plus I couldn't find the holiday antenna toppers online?!).
I actually told Raven and McKayla that I was writing a TR and they said "Oo you're one of those people that blogs about their life?!" (because they know all about Tumblr). I assured them that it wasn't about my whole life, just when I would go home to my happy place.. :D:cool: I'm sure they would go  if they saw some of this though! Haha!
Yes! My aunt ON THE TRIP was saying "I can't wait til next year! Next year we're gonna do more of this and this, etc.!" My uncle was like "Whoa whoa whoa who said we're coming back next year?!" but he absolutely loved Disney so I'm sure they'll be back! :D
Thanks for reading girl!

What do you mean, they're as hard as concrete!

Seriously, though- great TR!!
Hahah I guess they just fell into the Disney magic?! :p
Thank you for reading! :)

Love your pictures! Too bad about the no-show animals in the Safari and Pangani trail ( which I love ), but it looks like the parade may have saved the day.

Looking forward to more!

Close 2nd favorite character picture ;)

Terk wanted to take a break from the hot Florida sun!

The funny thing is is that my uncle had been sitting on this bench minutes before! He wanted a place to sit down, since we were standing. Unfortunately he was in the sun and we had the shade! The reason that he moved back to us though was because about 3 CM dancers/characters came over to him and they ALL asked the EXACT same question, “Why are you alone sir?!”. Every time he would point to us and say he was apart of our family and they would say “Aw they abandoned you?!”. After awhile he said he just couldn’t take getting asked the same question over and over again! I joked with him and said that he should’ve responded to their question by saying “What, can’t a man just come and enjoy Disney by himself?!” in a creepy tone Haha :p

I just love how the “floats” are controlled manually by the performers you see!

Aww happy cast member! :) I love how they stay smiling even through the blazing heat!

Thank you so much! That means a lot coming from someone who's pictures are amazing! :)
Yeah it was a shame because I love going through the trail as well! I feel like most people don't take the time to enjoy it.
Yes, they loved the parade! Besides Everest, I think that's what started them on the "Disney magic" :p
Thanks for reading!

While the parade was ending my uncle snuck into the gift shop and bought 2 Hershey’s bars (healthy I know.. :p) to tide us over until lunch because our FP for Kali River Rapids were ready to be used! So instead of going to Pizzafari we headed the way we came from and back to Asia!

If it’s warm out and I don’t mind getting wet (which I usually never do) then I think Kali is a spectacular, hilarious ride! That is if you do FP.. I would never ever EVER wait 90 minutes for a minute and a half ride! Our raft was great fun! The other people enjoying the ride with us were very nice and we joked who was going to get soaked at the bottom of the big hill! Well at first as we started to go down, one of the guys on our raft was the one backwards, but as we went down it started to spin (gets me every time!) and Raven, my uncle and I ended up getting SOAKED! I think everyone on the raft was soaked by the end. Honestly it felt amazing though! We laughed the whole time and with the 90+ degree weather, no one was complaining! The sandals came in handy too! :)

After we got off we made the wet walk back to Pizzafari to finally eat!

There I was either texting my mom telling her what we were gonna do next, or checking the wait times hehe :p

*Side Note* I don’t know if any of you noticed, but I was wearing a Blackhawks shirt and hat that day (I’m very superstitious and throughout the whole playoffs I always wore Hawks stuff the day they played. Plus I just like to show pride in my team ;) ). Well I got compliments and “Go Hawks!” cheers throughout the whole day from random people. I even got a couple “I love your hat (or shirt)!” from CMs actually IN the parade! I thought it was cool how they were able to come out of character (I guess you could say?) for a second and express their likings for my sports apparel :p

We headed into Pizzafari (sorry no pictures because we were starving and chowed down). We all got pizzas with the side salad and nice tall cups of ice water! My family didn’t know that the salads were included with the pizzas so they were extra pleased with the food there! :)

While we were eating I discussed what we were gonna do next. The next (and last) showing of The Lion King was at 5:30pm (if I can remember correctly..) and Finding Nemo: The Musical was at 6pm. I knew we weren’t going to be able to see both, sadly, since The Lion King show is a half hour long. Kyle absolutely LOVES The Lion King though (it was his favorite movie growing up and it still is his favorite) so I knew it was a no-brainer that we needed to go see The Lion King show instead! Sorry Nemo, I love you, but next time we promise!

So we left our wet Pizzafari chairs and headed to Camp Minnie Mickey. We got in just in time and were seated in the middle of the last section of bleachers to be filled so there was hardly anyone sitting behind us! Our bottoms were still soaked though.. We were seated in the giraffe section! I’m glad my relatives didn’t get picked to do the “What noise does a giraffe make?” because they have this running joke that a giraffe says “Giraaffffe! Girraaaffeee!” that would’ve been embarrassing, yet funny! :joyfull: Haha!

Kyle kept making sure I got a lot of pictures with my phone because he couldn’t get many good pictures with their camera (even though he did get a few). He said it was “like trying to take pictures in church!” Haha!

I think Kyle and I just sat there with our jaws to the floor and our eyes wide open the whole time! I love Festival of the Lion King, it’s so amazing and I LOVE the music! I bring it up on YouTube and sing to it all the time around my house ;)

I forgot that they didn’t move the floats back until after everyone leaves. So I thought it was pretty cool to be so close to the floats when you walked out! Even though it was oo soo tempting to touch Pumba or jump onto the swing on the back of his float :greedy:

Everyone fell in love with this show! They were so glad that we saw it! I’m so glad that they’re relocating it instead of getting rid of it once Avatar ( )land goes up! As we were exiting the show my uncle said “I forgot that Disney not only has rides, but it also has world class shows that no one else has!” Yeah he knows what’s up! My uncle made me a proud niece right then and there! :D

After the amazing show we decided that we wanted to get a few more rides in on Everest! On our way back to Asia we passed a building that we had passed before that had a 60 minute wait. The whole time I thought to myself “What could that be?! The building looks like it’s just an exhibit, but no exhibit would have a 60 minute wait?!” WOW did I feel like a newb! I must’ve missed the memo about Mickey and Minnie being relocated! I remembered hearing about their relocation, but I did not really know where they went. Now I know! :D So I had to admit to my family that I didn’t know what was inside.. That’s ok we would see Mickey and Minnie later on in the trip!

We needed to take a bathroom break by Kali first so once that was completed we had some photo ops! :p

Silly guys.. :p

Kyle giving me the evil eye..

As you can tell, 2 hours later, we were still wet from Kali!

I was a little mad because while we were admiring Everest I was told my a Photopass Photographer to move from my spot.. Now I know that is a Photopass spot, but I had only been there for a second and then this family just barged right in. Like hello having a Photopass card (in my opinion) does not give you front of the line access! And I felt like the CM was a little rude about it.. O well not really any biggie.. I understand they did have the right to push me out cause that is a designated spot, but it’s never happened to me before so I just found it kind of strange. :(

Everest only had a 20 minute wait, SCORE!

Once we got off we went to go buy our picture since we thought it was pretty good! As we were deciding what the best option would be, the CM suggested we buy the Photopass Ride package for $50 which included endless ride photos on all of the rides with pictures taken on them! This was honestly the BEST decision we had made all day! Especially with our goofy selves, it was WAY worth the $50! :D

The wait had gone down to 10 minutes so we decided to ride one last time since everyone loved this ride! Raven and my uncle had gotten the front row on the last ride, so Kyle and I wanted to give the front row a try!

OMG you DEFINITELY feel it in the front row! As we got to the part where the tracks are broken and you have to go backwards Kyle and I (at the exact same time) explained “OO NOO!”. To be honest we were both a little queasy once we got off and went over to get our ride picture.. Totally worth it though! :D

Notice each row is doing the same thing ;)

After our exhilarating last rides on Everest we decided that we wanted to go visit some dinosaurs one last time too!

Kayla sat this one out because, as you all may or may not remember, she was not too found of dinosaurs popping out at her the first time..

It was practically a walk on! Our only waiting was watching the movie, SCORE! :D

*nailed it!*

Once we put the picture on our Photopass card we went outside to find Kayla. Kyle was starting to get a headache so I gave him some meds that I had in my bag (thanks momma for the hook up :p). During this time my uncle and Raven snuck back for one last ride!

They seriously crack me up! Haha!

Then we went back to say hello to Chester & Hester and ride their Triceratops! :)

I love the wait time! Now in the picture you will notice those little kids talking to the CM. They were very cute and chatting the CMs ear off! So I thought we could just go around them, the CM didn’t stop us either. Well when we got up to the main line there was a CM walking down the line saying “Hey guys what number were you given?!”. I panicked for a minute because I thought we were gonna get yelled at for not getting a number.. and I guess that’s where my conscious was telling me I was a bad girl for not being patient with the little boys.. Well when the CM got to us I just let her know that we weren’t given a number. I said sorry, but she exclaimed “Noo no don’t worry about it, it’s not your fault!” and we were given a number (it was just so they knew how many they could let on with the next group). I hope I didn’t get that other CM in trouble for not giving me a number :( I doubt it though since there was no wait!

First it was just the girls and I that rode. Then while my aunt and uncle were in the next group we hid from them behind some trees in a stroller parking area. A lady sitting nearby thought it was hilarious! My aunt and uncle weren’t even scared like I thought they would be! They were just confused.. I guess they’re used to it by now with our family! :joyfull: Haha!

It was about 8 o’clock/ 8:30pm by this point and we had done everything that we wanted to so we decided to head out! I mean we could've lived on Everest for the rest of the vacation, but hey we had other parks to visit! :p

This is where I don’t understand how people say Animal Kingdom has nothing to offer! We were there from 11am to 8:30pm! That’s 9 and a half hours! Plenty of stuff to do there if you just take the time to enjoy it! I’m also an animal lover, I love going to zoos, etc. so I guess I may be a little biased since this park (along with the other 3) are right up my alley! :D

The night wasn’t over yet! Since McKayla and Raven loved Downtown Disney so much they wanted the rest of the family to experience it too!

Glad you made it to Festival of the Lion King! I absolutely love that show and usually go to it a few times each time I go to AK. Quite an impressive show and would be fun to take people who have never seen it. Glad your family liked it. :)

So flash back a couple of weeks before the vacation when the Hawks were playing the LA Kings.. When they clinched the Western Conference I was STOKED! Then I realized.. I WOULDN’T BE HOME FOR THE FINAL GAMES OF THE STANLEY CUP FINALS (if they played more than 4..) I was upset about it for about 5 minutes until I snapped out of it and realized that with technology these days I would still be able to watch the game! So fast forward back to the night of Monday, June 24th.. :)

Originally I had big plans of going over to the Boardwalk to watch the Hawks game at the ESPN Club, but I was a guest in my relative’s vacation so I knew that I just needed to go with the flow and do what they wanted, which was to go to Downtown Disney again! I couldn’t complain as I love the atmosphere of DtD!

I just spent my whole time there getting updates from my dad and watching the game on the NBC Sports app on my phone. Thank you free Disney Wifi! :D

Unlike the previous night, the parking lot was PACKED! So we had to do a couple of circle arounds (including a U-Turn all the way down by Saratoga Springs! It was cool to show them what a resort looked like though!). We ended up parking by Pleasure Island and walking over to the Marketplace.

We got lucky and saw the volcano show again!

Next stop was the Lego Store. My uncle and Kyle are huge lego fans so they were on cloud 9 with all the big lego-made Disney statues!

I had really wanted to get a picture with the Hulk, but it almost didn’t happen because the line was too long. I hate when there’s not specific lines for things because then you always get millions of people butting ahead of you.. I was standing behind a lady and all of a sudden another lady came up and stepped in front of me! Then the next thing I know she was talking to the lady previously in front of me about how you need to act fast or people’ll cut you! Umm HELLO you just cut me lady! Then she said “Here I’ll block everyone behind us so you can go next!”. I wasn’t at all going to go in front of them, but I did take a step to my left and the lady now in front of me took a step to her left too because I guess she was serious about the whole “I’ll block everyone!”. Raven noticed this all going on and was shocked by this lady’s behavior! Urgghh people these days.. Luckily I was still able to get my picture with him though.

We headed over to the World of Disney next where it was just as packed (if not even more crowded) than the night before..

Kyle had wanted to get a light saber after McKayla told him how you could build your own! So we headed to Once Upon A Toy next!

My phone battery was running low so I went to find an outlet in the wall out of the way where I could plug it in. I literally took a seat and watched the hockey game haha! :D

After Kyle made his purchase we headed out. We were all so beat! That walk back to the car was the longest walk ever! I had to slow down a few times throughout the trip because I was walking too fast. I felt so bad, but I told them they could yell at me whenever they needed to because I have my dad’s, fast stride. That and I’m used to booking it through my high school hallways to make it to my next class in 6 minutes! :p
I listened to the Hawks game on my phone the whole walk back!

We got in the car and I was getting a text that the hawks were down.. I was almost fine with them losing because then I had another chance to make it to the ESPN Club for their final game! Then I got a text from my dad saying that they scored and tied up the game! We were just getting onto Irlo Bronson highway when I opened the NBC Sports app again and heard “SCOOOORRRRE!”. I thought it was just a recap of the goal they just got, but IT WAS A SECOND ONE! 2 goals in 17 seconds, WHAT?! Because it’s the cup.. We only had a minute left in the game! My heart was racing, my family was freaking out in the back seats (I was in the passenger seat luckily! My uncle offered to drive back this time :p)! The app must’ve been behind because not a second later my phone was blowing up with “HAWKSSS WIN!!” and no sooner did the app catch up and the announcers shouted “THE HAWKS ARE STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!!!!” AHH MY HAWKS HAD DONE IT!! THEY WERE STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS AGAIN!! :D :D :D :D

This was a screenshot of the picture showing on my phone at the time that we were watching them celebrate, I thought the text from my dad was very fitting! ;)

We all started screaming and cheering (we were just turning onto the street where our hotel was located) and my uncle rolled down the windows, started honking the horn, and yelled “THE HAWKS ARE STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!!” Ahh I wish I would’ve recorded it, it was a great sight to see! I was on cloud 9! My favorite hometown NHL team had just won the Stanley Cup and I was in Disney (alright well technically in Kissimmee at this point, but you know!)!

We got back to the hotel and watched my favorite, Patrick Kane being awarded MVP and good ole’ Toews being awarded with the Stanley Cup!

My dad sent me this picture off of our tv at home..

Then after the ceremony the regular Florida NBC news turned on.. At home there were fireworks going off and everyone from the East Coast (where I go to school) was asking me how crazy it was at home, and I couldn’t give them an answer! I WAS GOING CRAZY! Honestly I just wanted to run around the streets I was so happy, but I couldn’t express it! Haha!

So after calming down I decided that even if I didn’t want to, I needed to get sleep because it was going to be another loooong day the next day!
I guess it helped that I got a new plush from WoD that night to sleep with! ;)

P.S- Sorry for all the hockey talk, but it was a big part of the day! And I wanna give a shout out to @derelicte19's Boston Bruins because they played one heck of a series! :)

Phew I’m FINALLY done with our first park day! Sorry it’s taken me so long guys.. I guess I just like to ramble on sometimes or go into too much detail, but I believe that you guys all deserve the best so I try to give it! Thank you all so much for reading along!

Glad you made it to Festival of the Lion King! I absolutely love that show and usually go to it a few times each time I go to AK. Quite an impressive show and would be fun to take people who have never seen it. Glad your family liked it. :)
I was so happy with the decision that we made! I love Finding Nemo as well (I have the music on my phone..:D) but nothing beats good ole FotLK!

What a great first ride for them!! EE!!! :)

FOTLK is my favorite show on property! The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie so it's fitting I guess.

Love all your photopass pics!! :)
It was honestly the BEST way to start off the trip! I'm actually so glad that everything worked out the way it did because in the end it was better to leave MK for last! EE seemed so much more intense even after the third ride! But then again I feel like the first ride of the trip always feels like the craziest one (yes even the POTC drop.. haha!) I think I've fallen more in love with the Lion King because of the show (that and because that's all my volleyball team and I watched during pre season!)!
Thanks for reading girl! There's literally about 150 more photopass pictures to come, YAY for the photopass cd! :D

It definitely was a good series! Heartbreaking for me though :( But I am am glad our boy Kaner won MVP!!! :)
So true! At least there was a compromise for you! :) When I was standing in front of the TV watching them award MVP I could not believe it was Kaner because I felt like that would happen in my wildest dreams, but now that he's growing up he's really proving himself! :inlove:

Thank you! :D
Thanks for reading girl!

hahahaha don't worry Mike made fun of me while I was writing my report (I write it all before I post it lol) And he called it my Disney blog. LOL. Then I tell him its a Disney forum, which he knows he just loves to be a pain (wouldn't have it any other way though!) but he doesn't know about the picutres still LOL. and thats funny you didn't tell you aunt and uncle about it. I'm sure they wouldn't mind anyways!!!
I'm sure they will come back!

That's awesome you stayed all day there! I have a feeling when I take Mike there we will spend most of the day too. It's just a beautiful park. I miss seeing it when it gets dark out!

First of all, great trip report. I am jealous of you. I am wanting to take newbies down to the world, but all of my friends are teachers. Makes it difficult to correlate trips.

Now, for the not so good section of the trip report. You and all this blackhawk gear and now I get to the end, and your showing pics of them winning it! Almost ruins a great trip report......almost. Just kidding. But seriously, my Blues will get revenge next season.....lol. Keep the report coming, it is very entertaining.
