But that’s not how you improve the guest experience. Paul Pressler was great at improving budgets.
There I disagree. like any company, WDW has finite budget. Sure bigger than most, but not infinite. Unlike the US Government, Disney can't just print money (thought they come close.)

The above being true, in managing budget restrictions, you improve the guest experience by dedicating your budget to areas where the MOST guests will be able to benefit/experience. In this case, dedicating dollars from the live entertainment budget towards a cost the so few people will experience doesn't make sense. That money is better spent bringing live entertainment to MK/AK, ect., higher traffic areas where more guests will have their experience improved.

Disney's theme park business - Absolutely Yes!
Disney's movie business and streaming business - Nope apparently ;)

The reality is Disney will keep cutting things and keep raising prices on everything and folks will keep coming.

This has been said over and over on these boards for decades.

It is what it is.

If you’re going to have amenities that draw non-resort guests, better to be Ginger Bread Houses and Easter Chocolate Cottage that sell stuff? So what if people staying at the Grand pay over a grand a night and the resort transportation takes longer due to all the visitors, at least Disney profits on $18 ginger bread tiles and $8 cake pops. I’m being facetious but only to a point. While the orchestra might’ve impacted resort amenities too, it was a to a lesser degree and a very unique ambience for resort guests. Try staying at the Grand in December, it’s a nuthouse. Better off just being a visitor than paying to stay.

Well Grand Floridian still does - the piano player.

At WDW - Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter have live entertainment. Boardwalk has the buskers. And Animal Kingdom Lodge has drummers.

Many resorts have campfires with marshmallow roasting, outdoor showings of Disney movies, and many other things outside the “norm” that makes Disney special
Trader Sam's has the guitar player in the afternoon. I used to love the band but they are not coming back, cant they make a hologram of them and have the music just play from speakers that make it sound like the band is up there? BTW those guys did not make a lot of money they used to play because they liked doing it. Look I love live music to a point but im very happy listening to a player piano. its the type of music that makes a difference.
