Source?

Since no autopsy has been done yet and it will take weeks for the toxicology reports to come back how can that be announced?

I meant to say, "Sources believe". My apologies. I was working out earlier though, and they were talking about how she was on anti-depressants and how there might have been a possible OD on those. I also saw them taking her body to the coroners office, it was weird seeing her body under a giant red cloth. Kinda freaky. But, i'm sure when they do the autopsy tomorrow that will reveal a lot.

My roomate also was suspecting foul play as well, though. It's strange that her son collapses, then her. Hmm...

I feel sad. I actually liked her, even though she was crazy and she did things that I wouldn't do. But something about her just caught my attention, you know? I even used to watch her reality show.

Anyway, I feel horrible that her baby girl will grow up without her real momma. But, I am sure that she will know who she was thanks to pictures and video. Sadly, she just won't have any memories of her. I hope that little Dannielynn will live a good life with loving people and will grow up into a beautiful successful woman.

I think Anna Nicole just couldn't take it anymore and ended it herself... or there was something fishy going on there. The situation is just too crazy.

My first impulse was an OD too, it won't surprise me in the least if thats what it turns out to be. It will be weeks before a final word comes in though.

Now, if only Britney Spears and Paris Hilton were to do such a positive thing for humanity

So, I TiVo The View every day....I'm watching it right now. During their Hot Topics, Rosie made this comment, "If I have to see Anna Nicole Smith one more time on television...", and then went on to talk about the paternity test and how it seems like she's on something and not all there. :lookaroun In retrospect of what happened today, it's really too bad that that was said this morning. :( I think everyone thought she was a little off, but the timing, unbeknownst to them is unfortunate.
I personally don't care about this all too much, someone dying is usually not a good thing but I am not giving it a second thought. Can we trade Rosie for her though?

A person died you guys...someones daughter...someones mother...someones sister...someone.

Whether she was a loser or a druggie or whatever..there is no reason to be happy or say who cares that she is dead.

Someone is hurting over this right now...put yourselves in their shoes.

Not trying to cause a problem..I just think it is sad....someone died....lets have a little bit of compassion.

I agree with you.

Regardless of her being a celebrity or not or her tabloid fodder, it's still a person. And a person who lived a horribly tragic life. She lost her son, who was the most important person in her life. It's sad how she never got over that, but that was asking a lot I guess. No mother should have to bury her child :(

Death is a sad thing.
But does it need media coverage?
It may seem "insensitive," but I don't care if some [insert adjectives here] woman dies down in Florida. Or to be more specific, I don't see why I (as the media coverage suggests) should care anymore about this person in particular than other cases of deaths that have happened in the last few days.

She is a celebrity...so of course it will get media coverage....that is a given....

If Joe down the street dies no one would really know...but If Regis Philbin died it would be all over the news...

Just like celebrities are in the news for having a baby...I was not on CNN when I had Maggie..but im not known like Britney Spears and other celebrities.

So if you do not care then why say anything at all.......

Dana...two for two

I think it should be obvious by now that if a person is a celebrity, especially one with such a rollercoaster of a life, then of course it will get coverage. Unfortunately, it comes with the territory...but just because the person is a celebrity, we have to dismiss their death because the media covers it too much. I dunno, that's the impression I'm getting.

I agree there is such a thing as too much coverage, and maybe this is the case. But I find it hard to believe anyone can be insensitive about ANYONE's death. Yes, people die every day, and every death is sad. A celebrity's death isn't any more important than Joe from down the street, but we just happen to hear about the celebrities. Their bad for being celebrities I guess.

Even if you do care, why say something at all, is it just to show that you're a sympathetic person?
And then, what purpose is there of calling out others who are not so sympathetic?
Is it misplaced ideals of self-righteousness, perhaps?

Some of us are inclined to show sympathy, obviously more than others. For me it's not so much "misplaced ideals of self-righteousness" as it is that wow ok you didn't like her, but why be so insensitive because she was a celebrity? How is it her fault that she just happened to be a celebrity and people are vultures when it comes to covering morbid stories like this? Another thing is ok maybe we're jaded to death and yeah everyone dies everyday blah blah blah and yes I agreed with the media covering it too much. But since when does the media cover things in moderation?

Where are their threads?

Were they celebrities? No, they were not. Again, I'm going to point out that being in the public eye is going to bring out the curiosity in every one. If one of those people were famous, you'd be hard-pressed not to find a thread or news story about them. The more famous or infamous they are, the more the general public is hungry to hear and see anything that deals with them.

Okay.
So, I'm not allowed to not care about her death, but everyone else here can feel free to gossip about it.

Nice.

You can do whatever you want.

Yep.

It is quite apparent I will not reverse your opinion so you can believe whatever you choose to believe.

Why would you assume I need to reversal of opinion?
Perhaps it's the self-righteousness again.

But alas, I do not plan to argue more. If you do not see my point, the fault it not mine.
