Breakfast at your Resort Hotel?

Good Morning Folks. Here's a question, and this has often puzzled me.Before our first vacation to a WDW resort,I always read how busy and sometimes hectic resort food courts get,yet I've never seen this at any resort hotel we've stayed at.Now iam talking breakfast here, not lunch or dinner. So I came to this conclusion, either were up earlier than most other holiday makers,or their having breakfast in their rooms,or their having breakfast when they get to the parks. So my question is,where do you have your breakfast,?and roughly what time.?

I'm an early bird myself so I'm usually heading down for coffee around 5-5:30am. My DH likes to have at least one breakfast out but otherwise would rather sleep. For the last two trips, I packed cereal and picked up milk on the way to the resort and we had breakfast in the room which I have to admit was lovely, unfortunately we discovered the croissants at the coffee shop so we usually would run down for a couple of those but honestly it was never horribly crowded, that being said we usually travel in October/November (before Thanksgiving) and the GF (that's our fave) never seems very crowded.

We mostly use our snack credits for our breakfast and stop for a bagel or bowl fruit and a juice on our way out to the bus stop. So I would say its about 7am for which ever park has EMH that morning. Then on the one morning we go to Ohana for breakfast that is our sleep in morning (I get up early and do lanundry while the rest sleep in) we head out for a 10:30 ish ADR. Most of the time at 7am there are not to many folks getting breakfast but would say by 8 the place is starting to see a heavy flow of park goers getting breakfast!!

We usually pack our own breakfast for all but one of our trip days, and have breakfast at the resort on that day. We are usually in a Value or Moderate, and they can get pretty hectic if you catch the wrong time, but we are also early risers and for the most part miss the busiest times.

Good Morning,

When we stay in POR we ususlly arrive at the breakfast table around 7:00 AM. The food court will get increasingly more crowded as we sit and eat. The last few trips we have been upgrading to club level in the Boardwalk. We have always gotten a seat and never really seems to get overly congested. The fare is much lighter than in the food courts but, it is just fine to start the day.

All the Best,
Susan

We bring along lots of snacks for the trip, so on some mornings, we just have a pudding cup or something before heading out to the bus stop. Then we may pick up something at the bakery on the way as well, or pick up a quick snack at the park. Other times, we might have a sit down breakfast. For example, on our upcoming trip, I have a sit down breakfast planned at Tusker House and Kona Cafe. Other times, we will sit down at the food court and have an actual breakfast. Usually, I haven't noticed the food courts to be all that packed...at least not to the point of having to wait in a huge line or anything. Now last year, we stayed at Wilderness Lodge, and Roaring Fork is rather small, so I had more experience with crowds there simply because the small size of the place.

The last time we came we had 2 teenagers with us and they would never get out of bed before 7. Therefore we were in the food court about 8. It was the end of June and very crowded!

For us, we bring cereal and fruit to eat in the room before we hit the park, but we do one character breakfast each trip around 10am. We usually have a CS lunch and TS dinner, hence a small breakfast.

It really varies. It really depends on our day up ahead. If Magic Kingdom is going to be open until 2am we will sleep in a little later or if we are going to hit up early magic ours. Typically we aren't the earliest of birds but are usually eating around 9:00am. Most cases we bring bagels, peanut butter, and other misc foods. We like to head down to the marketplace in Beach Club and grab either Chocolate Chip muffins or their Bear Claws as well.

My favorite breakfast to go to is hands down Boma's Buffet. Not only is the selection outstanding, but the juice they offer is phenomenal. Love me some Bomas.

On our last trip we would hit up the food court at night for some fruit and danish to have the next morning. It was much better then fighting the mass amount of ppl there in the morning.

We drive so we bring a whole laundry basket full of things for breakfast. The only day we eat in the foodcourt for breakfast is on our DO NOTHING DAY. This is always the day after MK PM EMH. We stay until park close and stop in at the bakery for a 2am or 3am snack while people are busy exiting the park. The next morning we sleep in and then go grab some grub!

We usually like to be down for breakfast at around 7:30am if not earlier on an EMH day.

There is usually NO ONE there. But once we slept in and headed down around 8-8:30...packed! It was crazy to see all the tables full. I'll stick with my early mornings for sure.

I've never had a problem at the food courts. Always down for breakfast between 7am and 7.30am before we head for the parks and always get served quite quickly. This also takes POFQ's food court into account as it is often slated for being too small but I can't say it has ever been an issue.

We've stayed at Pop for all 4 of our trips and always eat breakfast in our rooms. We usually pick up a cheap toaster to bring down with us and even brought a dorm-sized fridge with us last trip, which we passed along to a fellow WDWMagic member upon checking out. I know a lot of people will say, "You're on vacation, quit being so cheap!", but we aren't huge breakfast eaters at home really, so a bowl of cereal or a couple of pieces of toast with some fruit is normally good enough for us. We usually grab lunch in the parks and dinner down at the Pop cafeteria, so eating breakfast in the room is fine by us.

We usually catch the tail end of breakfast, as my DS has a hard time getting up in the morning. The only way I can get him moving at 9:30? You're going to miss breakfast. They are putting it away! That usually gets him jumping!:ROFLOL:
Not very crowded when you are waltzing in at 9:45.

Most of the time our breakfast is at the hotel, probably around 8. It's almost always something quick life a muffin so that we can be on our way to a park in good time.

I am an early riser at home, up and ready for work but when I am at Disney I allow myself to sleep till 7am. Stroll around the POFQ resort while the rest of my family gets ready. Then we sit down at the table between 8 & 8:30 depending on how much trouble it is to get my son to wake up and get going. We move through breakfast quickly and head for the bus stop immediately after. We've found the food court begins to fill up quickly after we sit down and the time gets closer to 9am. I can't imagine the noise and commotion we would face if we waited longer to eat.

Unless we've scheduled a table service breakfast, our breakfast usually consists of grab-and-go items like bananas, grapes and yogurt. We're late risers and generally leave our room a little later than the rope-drop commandos. Our experience with the resort food courts is that they are quite busy in the mornings. We prefer to avoid them if possible.

Now we are Vacation Club members we always eat breakfast in our appartment. However before that many years ago we used to ask for a fridge in our room ,when we stayed at Dixie Landings, so we could keep milk etc in it.It worked well for us. Sometimes we would have a character breakfast or go to a Ponderosa.

We are usually up very early to get our day started, so I like arriving at the foodcourt for breakfast at 7am and I've never had any issues with crowds.. except when staying at the values.. maybe because its crowded at those resorts, I don't know. But the last time I was at POFQ with my mother, we were up and out very early and the foodcourt never seems crowded at all.
