Could you settle for Brazil, Spain, and India?
I could

At this point, it's like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day: "Anything different is good."Could you settle for Brazil, Spain, and India?
I think New Zealand would bring the Maori aspect not seen in any other WS country... which opens the question, "Why not Polynesia?" See, I've BEEN to the Polynesian Cultural Center, and I thought it was 'way cool!Similarly, I don't know what New Zealand would offer beyond what is already presented in the already overly-present anglo cultures (but perhaps I'm showing my ignorance).
Does the third country pavilion proposal still includes an attraction?Don’t get too excited. Yet.
I think there's a Don Quijote movie planned, it's supposed to be similar to Pirates of the Carribean in nature, so it would be culturally relevant, and lend itself perfectly for an attractionI'm all for any pavilion that also brings with it a major attraction. It would suck if they built three new ones and none had any new rides or shows.
It's interesting if Spain is still on the table as an option given Gigantic is now buried as a movie property. Is there any other IP they could use for such a pavilion (I cannot think of any)? I mean, there's always the option of basing an attraction on something actually cultural and not an IP but who are we kidding.....
At least Jungle Book in an India pavilion seems quite plausible.

It’s way to soon for details. There’s a good chance it won’t happen remember.Does the third country pavilion proposal still includes an attraction?

I'm not sure that's entirely correct. I would think all of these things would be considered in today's Disney. Having said that, Jim put the Gigantic info out there and was the only one beating that drum. Many of his rumors are often fueled by the success of movies and the problem he gets into is putting the info out there too early. Sometimes it comes to fruition (Frozen to Maelstrom was first mentioned by Jim on 12/23/2013, 6 months before anyone else), Sometimes it doesn't (Gigantic).Connecting a possible Spain Pavilion with Gigantic was, I think, a Jim Hill thing which the internet ran with. It never was a thing according to our insiders.
Which makes sense since World Showcase pavilions aren't picked so that WDW can make a matching ride, but whether there are sponsors to build it, and if they want to (with Disney approval), throw in extra cash to add an attraction.
IOW, the existence or non-existence of Gigantic or any other Disney IP has no bearing on a possible Spain pavilion. It only comes into play if the Spain sponsors want a ride. Then I'm sure today's WDW would be happy to offer some IP ideas.
Polynesian would be fantastic! And it opens a place for a Moana M&G.I think New Zealand would bring the Maori aspect not seen in any other WS country... which opens the question, "Why not Polynesia?" See, I've BEEN to the Polynesian Cultural Center, and I thought it was 'way cool!
Too late. We're running with this now.Don’t get too excited. Yet.
Please DON'T tell me that it's starring Johnny Depp!I think there's a Don Quijote movie planned, it's supposed to be similar to Pirates of the Carribean in nature, so it would be culturally relevant, and lend itself perfectly for an attraction
The "picking" is a business case and nothing more. Smart doesn’t come into it.I’d love to see something like Turkey or India rather than Spain.
And this is coming from someone who absolutely loves Spain, I feel they would be smart to pick something with an entirely different language and less similarities with any other pavilion.
