Come, meine Lieben! Experience Total nicht der Matterhornberg! Sehr lustig!

Why yes, I am fluent in German. I didn't flunk German in college! I didn't just put the above into an English-to-German translator! What kind of Philistine do you people take me for?
I actually was able to read a little of that lol My dad tried to teach me and my sister German when we were kids (... and I ended up learning French, and she took Spanish).

My downfall was taking 6 years of Spanish in Middle-High School, and then trying to learn German. Whenever I would forget a German word, I'd put in the Spanish equivalent-which was just not correct in any sense, haha.

Oh I frequently say 'danke', 'bitte', 'bitte-schön' around my very confused coworkers, and then go right into counting in French if I need to count name tags or papers or something. It's fun :p

I lived in Germany for 3 years and somehow managed to learn very little of the language. One thing that never left me was Wayne Newton's Danke Schön being triggered in my head at least once a day.

I did like the farewell of Tschüss! a lot. I think it was the cheeriest thing in the German language.

I've always worried about a DVC resort being crammed in using those two pads and other land back there since all the talk of an epcot dvc started a few years ago. I have no doubt they looked into it. But the infrastructure shuffling and access changes would be too big I would think. There is a horticulture warehouse back there still right?
Epcot resorts have been being looked at for years. Germany or Italy themed (between the two pavilions), over the bridges between France and U.K. and several futuristic versions that would flank the monorail station at the front of the park. But nothing has come to fruition, at least yet.

And the horticulture staging area is near the back road between Land and The Seas.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but-

Currently, World Showcase is a mix of a few worthwhile attractions that are popular (including Frozen, sorry crybabies), a few cultural exhibits that literally nobody bothers to look at, and shopping/dining/performers which currently happens to be the main draw of the area. This isn't any different from the day EPCOT opened though.

Mexico- Mid level ride, medium popularity, Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the real draw, the ride isn't even noticed by most
Norway- Mid level ride, extreme popularity (now), cultural area that nobody cares for
China- Circlevision, non-existent culture currently in museum, both are largely ignored in favor Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture
Germany- Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw
Italy- Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw
USA- Major show performed, small museum that's mildly popular
Japan- Small museum which is ignored, Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw
Morocco - Small museum which is ignored, Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw
France- Minor film which is ignored, - Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw
UK- Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw
Canada- Circlevision mostly ignored, Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture are the only real draw

So right now, half of the pavilions have no real draw beyond Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture, and the remaining half don't actually draw people in search of attractions except for the USA, Norway and a small percentage of people who sit through the films. Sorry guys, it's always been about the Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture- not rides or other attractions. While I'd love to see more "real" attractions, it's not some travesty if another pavilion were to open offering only Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture. That would simply reflect the offerings that are largely present at all of the current counties save for a few. That hasn't really changed. I get that every country had some form of ride/attraction that was axed along the way (Meet the World, Mt Fuji, Shinkansen walk through and others just for Japan!), but none of that actually came to fruition. What's there now is largely what was there when the area opened.

American Adventure is literally the only headliner in the World Showcase aside from Frozen. I certainly hope that there's a headliner attraction in any new country, but that would in fact be a departure from the makeup of the showcase as it is now.

Sometimes I think people forget that the Performers/Shopping/Dining/Architecture function as the attraction for World Showcase. Well, that and booze.

fwiw, while we make our way to our dinner of choice along WS, I do tend to try and swing my kids through the museum areas (where I find them); we have stopped in for Impressions de France about every other trip over the last few years. My 8yo still finds Epcot to be his favorite park! (and I'm amazed that he does - I can't imagine how much he'd have enjoyed it in the 80s)

Most likely no attraction.
Ugh!!
Why even bother then...I mean seriously...It will be a Brazilian restaurant and a gift shop...why waste an expansion pad in the World Showcase with yet another lame offering...?
The park is short on attractions, and has never lived up to the plans laid from the very beginning... there are far too few attractions in World Showcase in particular, and EPCOT in general...

It doesn't mean they can't add one in the future.

Would you rather have the empty plot stay there?

Could have sworn that the rumor said there would be an attraction included as well. Oh well, Brazilian food and drink is awesome, so at least we're getting that.

But look how long it's taken them to go back and add rides - plus look at the rides that were cancelled after not being built with the original pavilion. The chances are greater if it opens without one, it will never have one.

Fair point, but used land is better than unused land in almost all cases.

I've seen it both ways. I think it just makes sense that they'd do the Brazil pavilion without an attraction because they are going to be making attraction changes elsewhere in the park.
