Brazil coming to EPCOT?

Just for arguments sake, Paraguay has the most stable political and economic system on the southern continent. If Epcot made pavilions based purely on stability, there’d be a Paraguay pavilion and Europe would be represented by Switzerland.

Where do I sign?

Can a getta austrialia too?

And a US just with the stable areas?

If you look on Google Earth, they might be able to fit something between Germany and Italy, but only if they moved some logistics buildings behind. The only other logical spots, between Germany and China, and between the UK and France, now have other construction projects occupying them. All the other strips of available land don't look big enough.
If you look at this image it looks like they have already cleared the land next to Germany. This is an aerial image of the almost completed Riviera Resort

I believe that is staging/testing for the drone show...

Though it could be repurposed.

This is the very thing that creates “trust the shovels”...no pavilion has been started since 1986. It’s more than “we haven’t gotten around to it”...there are fundamental reasons why this has gone nowhere for decades.

Consider that the priority is and should be the front side as well...it’s high cost and currently generates little profitable revenue

Wow. It may surprise you to learn that I'm actually well aware of where Mali is. And I didn't even have to look at a globe! But thanks for your condescending answer. I was actually hoping you could explain why, of all the countries in subsaharan Africa, you picked one that's known for civil war, insurgency, kidnappings, slavery...I mean tourists can't even go to Mali right now. Why on earth would that be the country that would be put on showcase?
I think all sub saharan African countries are know for those things... Except for SA and Zimbabwe when they were under white rule

Jim Hill, From Jim Hill Media said that a land clearing behind the Japan Pavillion is where the drone staging/landing strip will be. Not anywhere near the site I mentioned

Jim hill makes 10 things up a day...he’s a bottom dweller...but that plot is right near the old pyro dock...so tech for a show isn’t crazy there

I think maybe a good choice for them is have all BRIC countries there, like they already have all the G-7 countries.
  1. First Brazil because the amount of Brazilian tourists in Orlando compared with other South America countries, or even any other country -- Disney may want them feel welcome to spend even more inside WDW than outside. Some good steakhouse also don't hurt.
  2. India because the amount India immigrants in US -- they have a big consumption power, again Disney may want them to feel welcome and spend more in the other pavilions. Also, great ride with Jungle Book, Bollywood musicals and really good food.
  3. Russia is the less likely one, but their castles and architecture are really beautiful, and Disney guests love castles for obvious reasons. Also, is one of the best place to make a ride about Anastasia in the whole WDW. Definitely it can easy become a big E-ticket for Epcot.
  4. Some people put South Africa as well in the BRIC(s), but it never was a big rally for the multinationals invest there as it was in those 4 until 2013. I'm not sure if worth for them do it, maybe countries like Ethiopia or Nigeria can be a better fit. Nigeria specially have a huge cultural influence in the African-Caribbeans and African-Brazilians, or even African-Americans.

So I tried to start a thread asking what happened to the " all but confirmed" epcot pavilion and it got shut down by the moderator. I did search ahead of starting that thread. All posts are pre-d23. What did happen? Does anyone know? We've been hearing these rumours for years. There was even another company posting that one of their employees was leaving to work in the new Brazil pavilion. I'm not saying any of these rumours were more than rumours but it seemed so certain. What the heck happened? Will we ever see it?

The Brazilian government was never going to be paying for this.

The answer is we don’t really know why it wasn’t announced. Just as we don’t know why they were so vague as to the details of the Mary Poppins attraction.
It could be something as simple as they just aren't ready to announce it and had plenty of other things to announce.

I believe it was a joke.

But to your point...the original countries were partnerships with businesses, not governments. Those partnerships were hard to renew and have log jammed any further development...if one is a student of history
