I know that there are not offering bounce back in the rooms like they use too, but I want to be ready just in case we do get one we are able to use. We are starting to talk about next years trip (yes i know we have not gone yet this year ) and I was wondering if once a bounce back trip is booked can you add an additional room at a later date using the same bounce back deal?? See freinds of ours are now talking about wanting to come with us next year..but iam sure I wont know for sure later this month. Or should I book it just in case knowing I can cancel if they dont come. Also if we do book and then change our minds about a resort can we change that after the fact??? Thanks eveyone!!

Typically you can only book it while on property. Hence the bounce back. Some people have reported success trying to book afterwards, others have not. If you really think it is that good a deal, I would book them both at once to be on the safe side.

I booked POR on a bounce-back last year for three weeks from now :king:. Every time an offer has come out since, I've called and been told what I have is saving me more.

The suggestion I'd make is book two rooms as separate reservations. That way if you have to cancel one, it doesn't impact the other. The CM you book with can put a note on each reservation saying they are connected to each other and want rooms connecting or in proximity.

If you cancel a room-only any time up to 5 days before check-in, you get a full refund. Packages can be cancelled up to 45 days prior with a full refund as well.

You can modify the reservation after booking, but it might lose you the bounce-back discount. Never hurts to ask. If it'll change your discount they'll tell you so before you do it.

Thanks for the info. I think that is what I will do...book my rooms and then make an additionl reservation for our friends.

Has anyone ever gotten a bounceback staying with DVC? Like a bounceback for a cash reservation, while you are staying with points? Also...where do you look for these bounceback offers? Are their notes left in your room? In our two years going we have never gotten one that I have noticed. Makes me wonder if I just missed it.

We have never stayed in a villa so I am not sure if they leave them in those rooms or not. The offers are normally a flyer type material they leave on your bed or on the table in your room. Last years looked like a clock and was on our bed.

We have gotten them in DVC villas (stayed on RCI trade though, not points). So they do appear there at times. I don't think Mousekeeping would remove it from the room for certain groups. It's really just a matter of if they were being offered at the time frame/resort when you were there. It is possible that a previous guest took it with them when they left and Mousekeeping never gave you a new one.

Both times I've been to Disney this year (February and May) there was a bounceback in the room. And I agree, it's seems that bounceback's are the better deal. I looked at some of the more recent discounts and when I priced the same room, with one LESS day, using a public/passholder discount, it came out to about $100 MORE! That was WITH one LESS day!!

But I was smart, I reserved a room for a week in September and for a week in December, so at least I'm covered now for the rest of the year!

Does anyone know if there is a current bounce back being offered? We are going back in April before the Disney Cruise and will love to book out resort stay prior to the cruise using a bounceback offer.

We need time for things to happen.
Please forgivie me if this is a painfully stupid question but...Are the bounceback offers the cards you get in the rooms that has a list of dates you can rebook at a discounted rate?
.
If so-- every year except the last we had these in our rooms.
However they were always deep discounts for dates within that calendar year. We were never given anything were we could get a discount for the following year. Im guessing because of pricing not being available that would be typical.

Also im guessing they stopped doing this recently??

I suspect they only start offering for dates in the next year after the room rates are released in August. So if you are traveling before August, the offer would only be for the current calendar year. :(

I'm not 100% sure, but that fits with the way they do a lot of things...

In 2009 while at POFQ we got a BB offer which we book for the same week in August for 2010. 2010 at the WL the BB offer was for the the rest of 2010only. But within a week of getting home they came out with a public offer for free dining starting 19th of August 2011 which I jumped on since there was no BB. Free Dining started a week later this year then it has in the past 2 years. Then in Jan. a pulic offer for 40% off came out and thats the pricing offer we are currently on! Hoping that if no BB while we are there (13 days away) that they will come out with something close to what they did last year. We are already talking about next years trip!!! :sohappy:

In order to accomplish my learning something new everyday (and thus freeing up my afternoon), what is a bounce back?

It's typically an offer that they give to you WHILE you are staying in WDW. Once you leave you are beat. You can only book it under 1 persons name in the room. So you can book one room for you, one for your wife, one for your kid and basically bring all your friends with you. It's typically the same deal you are currently booked under. In mid August is when everyone is there for free dining so that is typically the bounce back. They give you a shot at it before it becomes publicly offered.

A bounce back is an offer they disney extents you but you must book before you check out on your current stay. It normally a really GREAT deal. There is a tread 2012 bounce backs that was also just started and it has a picture of the current BB that is left in the rooms.
