If guests need to come into my bedroom then my privacy is absolutely being compromised. When on vacation I like to relax. And do fun things. With DH. At any time of the day we might feel like it.

That is why we bought DVC. So the kids do not have to come into our bedroom. Whether aged 10 or 30.

You started off agreeing that the arrangement might conflict with the home from home idea. Now you’re just being argumentative. I’m giving my reasons, which you’re dissing.
I 100% agree with you @nickys , when we stay DVC, both privacy AND storage are important to us too.

Imo, it's inconvenient for everybody when people staying in the living area, need to go into the bedroom to get their stuff. Also, the idea of living 'out of a suitcase' for more than a couple of nights, is very unappealing to me. We like our spaces to be functional and organized, that goes for when at home, and when we travel.

Come on man. To say the privacy level I'm a one bedroom is so bad you kght as well all be in one hotel room is a total exaggeration. Please try it and report back how it's totally similar.
Again, I am not saying a 1-bed and a hotel room are the same.

I am saying that for us, we bought DVC for the privacy aspect. Without that, we would not have spent the money on buying DVC and just stuck to the U.K. 14 night package deals and put up with the lack of privacy in order to stay onsite. Or just stayed offsite and rented a private villa.

The financial outlay was worth it to us because of the separate bedroom.

Even the guy you have mentioned has said your not reading all this clearly. Try to follow the thread. I have said people have different needs. Did he not say he might as well be in one room? Answe that?
Who’s “he”? 😁

And no. Read my latest attempt to make you understand.

The whole point of DVC was to have privacy. Otherwise we might as well be in one room.
Goof lord, I don't know @Nicky Other than as a very helpful poster particularly with DVC, but I refuse to be gaslit in that my interpretation of the above statement was it was a bit of an exaggeration. Thats all.

Thanks for the compliment.

No gaslighting intended. It’s just you are misinterpreting my posts. The reason for us buying DVC was the privacy aspect. That option sealed the deal for us. Otherwise we would not have bought at all, and just used the U.K. package deals in a single room. So for DVC to take away that privacy option in a refurb is a big deal for us. But that’s OK, there are other resorts which work.

Well, it is possible(not likely) they renovate to add a door of some kind to separate the bathroom/closet from the master.
I knew you were UK! To be frank the layout of the current room is what's kept me from booking there. It doesn't even have the chair.
I have seen a push in hotels of all kinds away from dressers etc. I just spent a night in a high end hotel in Philly and it was very limited. My thoughts are(easier to clean and less likely to break). And even further....less likely to get bed bugs residing in them

To heck with closets, I need drawers. I'm dreading the prospect of unpacking on my first Poly DVC stay in a few months.
Sorry for going off topic: I don't know how you tend to pack, but if you use packing cubes (and even if not), there's a TON of cubby and drawer storage in the 2 bathroom vanities in the Poly studios. I kept 5 days worth of clothes and all my toiletries in one side of one bathroom cabinet - the rest of the bathroom storage wasn't even needed. My daughter used the trunk-style coffee table for all of her clothes, my son used an under-bed drawer, and my husband used part of the closet, stacking things in a collapsible hanging shelf organizer.

The Poly studios may not have a dresser, but we ultimately didn't find them wanting for storage. Hopefully you won't either.

I love packing cubes.

I do like storage space, and do not like using my suitcase as a dresser and one of my kids is the same way. My wife and other two kids can live out of a suitcase (heck, one of my kids uses the floor as her closet - it is amazing how different the three kids can be).

It is not what I would call a deal breaker for us, but I do find the lack of storage space in some of the layouts in some of the resorts to be annoying.

An orange sofa and a garish headboard. Wonderful. Just what I think of when I think of Wilderness Lodge. 👏👏👏👏

/sarcasm font off

Seriously that is hideous if it’s the finished design.

How are blue, red and white stripes related to your picture?
It's a crappy photo but that doesn't look like blue, red, and white stripes to me. It looks like a woven pattern.

(I was sharing the link, not the picture. The link automatically grabbed that picture from the article.)

Woven or not it still looks like very bright stripes to me. And the sofa may have a pattern but still looks bright orange.

I just hope it isn’t as bad as that picture makes it look. But it really does nothing to make me want to stay there.

Yup. Looking red, white and blue headboard/bright orange sofa to me, too. Hope it's only a very bad photo.

Same. Guess the green and red is not enough and they had to toss blue in? Sofa does look red more than orange to me (like maybe specked red/cream). It looks utterly not cohesive at all to me and absolutely not reminiscent of anything you'd see out in the region.

Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone, i.e. the main resort on which Wilderness Lodge is based. Note the colorful red woven textiles on each bed.

It's EXACTLY the kind of thing you'd see in the region.

FYI - here's an article, with a photo (small and grainy, but a photo nonetheless) of a BR refurbed studio.

Very cool. No way to tell what the TV fold down set up is or not. Not going to lie, I was hoping for a log hewn bed post look

That room looks totally different from what is shown in that preview. The woven pattern....is because they are actual blankets. I actually don't mind the headboard, but the light walls and that Murphy bed...none of it seems to go together. They need faux wood walls or something, even a darker wall paper would help. Right now that looks like a store furniture display of non matching pieces
