Still looking at an opening "for the holidays." I was hoping for earlier (or at least more definitive).

Why is it that every time WDW says they're going to give "dates" for something, I naively assume that by "date," they mean "date," as opposed to "vaguely general season which may or may not be within this same calendar year"? Why don't they just say, "Be Our Guest will be opening sometime, either sooner or later, within the imminent future, which will not likely be in the past, but may fall within your lifetime," and leave it at that? ;)

They probably have to get a better grasp on how much work outside the restaurant is left to finish up and how long that will take.

At least in this case, they didn't promise dates:
Many of you have been asking for an update on the Be Our Guest Restaurant, and I’m happy to announce that we’ll have an update on this topic tomorrow on the Disney Parks Blog. Our Food Author Pam Brandon will share details with you on the delicious menu items you can expect, updates on reservations, and more! Don’t miss it.

At lease we know they will be taking reservations in August, so they will need to give a concrete opening date at that time. Prior to the opening date, they will probably have a few weeks of soft open without reservations, so I am still holding out hope to get in the place in November (a girl can dream!)

By golly, you're right! Apparently I'm still smarting from the announcement of "opening dates" for the Fantasyland Expansion itself, which included no dates at all except for the first phase of Storybook Circus. Apparently I baselessly overestimated the specificity we might expect in this update.

Now I can't wait to get in line for my exquisitely themed french fries. ;) (Seriously though, I did think many of the menu items sounded extremely tasty, if not the uber-French "culinary cabaret" some were hoping for.)

Anyone else get the feeling this place will require ADR's for lunch with the new grander counter service setup??

There will be cues all over FL for this when it opens and they may decide to go this way!

No I really don't think they will do ADRs for quick service. Plenty of other quick serves at MK routinely have queues out the door and they do not ADR them.

There seems to be some effort to move towards this. The quick service at Art of Animation features china and silverware. I think they are starting to realize that $10+ entrees on paper just don't give the right impression.
I believe WolfGang Puck Express do this too? Or is it just the ordering system that is the same?

It may not be permanent but could it possibly happen from opening until after the holidays??

It just seems like it is going to be chaos trying to get in there!

I think they'd want to have BoG opened by Thanksgiving. Judging by the menu items, I find it hard to believe that they would want to miss the crowds that weekend. And if the open Little Mermaid and BoG anytime between Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years, there's very little time for testing, closures, etc if anythings wrong. It would make sense to open both a couple weeks before Thanksgiving to test run them before the crowds come in.
