Bob Chapek Confirms Disney Will Overhaul Epcot

EPCOT = Every Person Comes Out Tired :)

I am so happy to hear a rework is planned for EPCOT's future world. Our visit this past June to EPCOT was upsetting (the future world section - not World Showcase - although the 31.00 lunch (chicken sang, burger, fries and two fountain sodas) at the American pavilion was gross and grossly overpriced). We literally felt "duped" sitting there looking at the neglect. It was like a bad neglected 80's mall. Horrible. The walk thru the abandoned Innovations with hallways that smelled liked the restrooms was particularly memorable. Couldn't wait to get the hell out. We stood up from the outdoor seating area in disgust and walked the hell out of there and went to Magic Kingdom. Seriously - no need to walk into Hollywood Studios or Epcot for many years. I will gladly just buy a one day admission to either Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, a water park and visit Universal.

How EPCOT has gone on neglected for so long is astounding. Please make it relevant again. I want to feel like I did when I visited in 1989. Jaw dropping amazement and pure genius.

What you will get instead is the Worlds Largest Outdoor Bar Complex, Spring Break Every Day with wet T-shirt contests and other alcohol fueled amusements of questionable social value.

Actually that is a really great idea hearkening back to the old Communicore days... And would be an example of a good way to integrate an ip into the existing future world...
If only the Living Seas was more Edutainment instead of a movie rehash... sigh
Tell me about it. I been going to Disney at least once a year since I was three. (I'm 20 now) In all my times I have been to Epcot I only been on the Seas with Nemo only once about 8 years ago. I thought that they could have done better justice to the ride.

Uh no!, Can we call the Epcot changes official?!? It is now trending on Facebook :p (Joke). In my opinion, Disney does a great job of buying time. They make these announcements and then add wait for more information. It feels like they do it to get people off their back.
No, they're just more averse to commitment than the average 24-year old guy. Incidentally, most of the MBAs they employ are ~24-year old males. It takes them a long time to build their PowerPoint presentations.

I'm just wondering what's going on with innoventions. I mean you can only have so many meet and greets, there's a lot of space in there that's just sitting there closed off!

Is Bob taking over for Bob when Bob retires (finally)? You would think it would be a good thing if the President of WDW resort gets the CEO job.
Bob Chapek is not the President of WDW, he is the Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts. I also don't believe by any means Bob Chapek is being targeted for the CEO job. If Staggs didn't get the job no way Chapek gets it. The Board is looking elsewhere.

Thanks for correcting my error on the job title. So he has alittle more on his plate then WDW. Is the board looking outside the company for the CEO job?
