Boat To HS?

Direct? I don't think so. I think you can take a boat from Hollywood Studios to the Swan and Dolphin (or Boardwalk, whatever is closer). Then walk from there to Epcot, which isn't far at all.

Any views from anyone else would be appreciate, I've only done it once, and have a hazy memory.

You can travel by boat from Hollywood Studios to Epcot, absolutely.

The dock is near the entrance of Hollywood Studios, and the route will make several stops before ending at the International Gateway entrance to Epcot.

The stops are Swan/Dolphin, then Yacht Club/Beach Club, then Boardwalk.

To go from one park to the other does take quite a bit of time, however, so if you're in a rush, there's always the shaded pathway that links the two parks together. It goes from the DHS entrance, through the Swan and Dolphin, across the Boardwalk, and finally ends at the EPCOT International Gateway. We normally take the boat to the Yacht and Beach Club and walk the rest of the way.

Thanks for the info. It actually might be pleasant to resort hop and travel from park to park all at one time.

Yes, I'd say that's about how long it takes the boat to get from Epcot to HS. You could swim it faster.

It's about a 25 minute ride.

While you aren't allowed to swim it, you can walk along the path that follows the canal. And depending on your pace, it is usually faster to walk because of the stops the boat will make.

No problem at all

A tip - if you are travelling from HS and plan on going to the Boardwalk, and don't mind a little walking, it's quicker to get off at the first stop (Swan/Dolphin), walk up the boat dock, make a left, then make another left and go up over the bridge. Otherwise the boat continues to Yacht/Beach first then across the lake to Boardwalk.

It's a pleasant boat trip. But it does take forever. It is faster from EPCOT to DHS to take a taxi to Miami, then fly to Orlando airport and from there hop aboard the Disney Magical Express to the nearest stop to the Studios. You'll save about three weeks of travel time.

However, I'm in my happy place, in no rush, the sun always shines so I enjoy taking that boat.

From international gateway to the HS gate is just a hair over 1 mile (like 1.05). If the weather, it's a pretty nice walk to take.

We were going to take the boat from the Studios to the Boardwalk one day last week but there was no sign of one and we decided to walk. It passed us on its way TO the Studios and we were way down our first beer on the lake-front before it appeared on its way back to Epcot. So unless you're very tired, I should say walk.

When park hopping we always use the boat when traveling from EPCOT to DHS and vice versa. My family is well aware of the extended "time-in-transit" but we would do just about anything to avoid the stupid bus. Give it a try next time, its very relaxing and you get to see some cool sights along the way.

We did this, the boat entrance leaving HS is down by the entrance to the park. It will take you all the way to Epcot if you stay on it that long.

Its actually a very nice ride if you have never seen those resorts up close. We did it a few weeks ago. Parked at DHS, took the boat, did stuff at Epcot, returned. There is also a walkway from DHS to Boardwalk.

Am I wrong or does it seem that I can take a boat from Epcot to Hollywood Studios?
There's also a direct bus between the two parks. The difference is Epcot location ... the FriendShip boat takes you to/from Epcot's International Gateway (the "back door" in World Showcase), whereas the bus takes you to/from Epcot's main (front) entrance.

Can anyone take the boat or is it supposed to only be for resort guests?

Also, if walking from HS to Epcot or vice versa, where do the paths begin?

We've never done either so are not 100% sure.

Thanks

The map above ^^^^was posted as I was posting. It clearly shows my directions given below. It also shows the fastest route.

Anyone can take the boat. As I recall, the docks are both outside of the park gates, so you don't even have to be a park guest.

The walking paths are to the right of the boat docks at both gates. Very easy to see at International gateway, and a little more difficult to spot, because the path is downhill a bit, at DHS.

If coming from DHS, you make a decision at the Swan & Dolphin (or better yet, Boardwalk - per map. Hard to describe where to take the turnoff if someone has never been on the walkway) as to whether you want to walk to Epcot on the Boardwalk side, or Yacht Club side. When leaving Epcot, you make the decision at the bridge.
