Boardwalk, whats the deal?

We love the Boardwalk as do our kids. If you favor Epcot and or the Studios, they are both within walking distance, though you can also take the boat. If you spend most of your time at MK you may prefer the Polynesian or Contemporary. As for everything being outside, it is right outside the door. When we buy things in the park and have them sent back to the hotel, they are in our room when we return so I'm not sure about having to go down to the store, but pictures are actually sent to the gift shop inside the hotel 15' from the lobby. If it is closed then you go outside to the little market with is maybe 50 yds from the front door. No big deal at all. We love the night life on the Boardwalk as well. Very family friendly.

At one time packages where left in your room. This was with any resort. But I'm pretty sure that has changed and you have to pick up packages from a central location. I know in 05 our packages were sent to the store outside the resort.

You really don't have to get wet. Just stay under the cover. It'll take a little longer to get there but it can be done. My dad and I just HAD to have a monster rice krispie from the bakery one night it was pouring and barely got wet.

I love how everything is on the boardwalk because its like a real boardwalk. Which sorta makes sense.... I wanna go back!!

NJDVCMEMBERS nice picture. Last summer one of our rooms was to the right a little bit so we could see the pool and earful tower! It was a great spot.

Never heard of Boardwalk? Didn't we already talk about this, were so going!! That's right I caught this thread too!

Those were the same concerns my family had when we stayed at the Inn as well as all of the area resorts sharing the bus! We waited forever and they were always crowded. I understand that that has changed, but we won't be going back anytime soon. Though the Boardwalk is a fun place to hang out.

I just stayed at the Boardwalk on Saturday for the first time. I agree with some of the posts, it's a nice place to visit/hang-out, but I didn't like staying there.

I thought the lobby was rather small and it was a hassle having to walk down to the store on the boardwalk for a bottle of milk (opposed to the small gift shop in the lobby). Plus, I wasn't a big fan of the eating options or boardwalk "entertainment." But, this is just my opinion. I recommend eveyone trying out a hotel at least once.

I love the Boardwalk and hope to stay there soon. Especially in the late afternoon and evening (after running around Epcot or DHS in the morning), I love to relax in the swings on the beach at the Beach Club and wait for Boardwalk's lights to come on. If you stay long enough, CMs will inflate a giant screen and you can watch Disney movies.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... :D

Wait a minute... HOW LONG till my next trip?!?!?!?! :eek:

The Boardwalk os OK as a resort but pretty poor as an attraction. The street entertainment and the limited carnival style attractions are no different to any 2 bob outfit you can encounter any where.

The resturants are good and its a pleasant walk around the lagoon but unless I was dining there I wouldnt make the effort to go.

I'm right there with you on that one! That's why I was questioning someone else's assessment of Boardwalk as "amazing". Nice, yes. "Amazing"?? That seems a tad extreme of a word to use to describe Boardwalk. I think anyone going there expecting something "amazing" is in for a huge letdown. :lol:

I like the Boardwalk, it's usually less busy than DownTown Disney and yes, it is more for casual strolling and it's not full of activities but that makes it more peaceful/romantic IMO. The theming is very nice, the restaurants are good and it's in a great location.

I've gone on a few dates there, eat dinner, then walk around to the Yacht club, then to Fantasia Mini Golf, then walk back.

I enjoy the boardwalk mostly for Jellyrolls, I think Jellyrolls is a nice grown up bar, it's great for all ages of adults not just the early 20-somethings. But the boardwalk in general isn't something I'd go out of my way to experiance, like other people have said it's a very nice scenic walk with some great dining locations but not exactly a must-do.

I disagree, I like going in the evening for a quiet brak from the parks, and I think there is still simple fun things for my family to do.

I like it there, it's a nice place to go and grab an ice cream but it's not somewhere that I would really go unless I've got a couple of hours to kill.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no general public parking for Boardwalk like there is at DTD, right?

Is it only accessible for resort guests, and by foot/boat from EP or DHS?
