I have heard a lot of talk about the boardwalk on these forums but I must admit that I had never heard of it before on any of my previous WDW visits. I was just wondering where it is, what is there to do there and is it worth spending some time at?
I think of the Boardwalk as a Downtown Disney Light. Its a really amazing location that is geared to a slightly older crowed although anyone can enjoy it.
Ahh.. I can just imagine my morning coffee at a bench by the Bakery. Have fun.*Typing this as I sit in my room at Boardwalk* If you go out the back gate of World Showcase (between France and the UK) and follow the path around youll come to boardwalk. It sits across the lagoon from the Yacht and Beach Club. There are several restaurants ranging from the Bakery to Spoodles, Flying Fish and ESPN. Also, many nights there are boardwalk games (like basketball) and street acts like jugglers. Also there is a dance hall.
LOL im sorry if Im rambling but its been a long day and im SO EXCITED to be here

We love the boardwalk!!! Try it in the afternoon for a nice relaxing stroll or at night for the entertainment.
Wife and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this resort, but mostly because it's right at Epcot's back door. The theming and restaurants are very nice too. Agree with a lot of your comments. The rooms are kinda small and plain, especially compaired to GF or Poly. But like Poly and GF, you do have to go outside to get to things like the bakery, store, and arcade. They are not outisde the resort, The boardwalk is part of the resort, but you do have to go outside to get them.A couple issues I found with the boardwalk:
I guess I think everything is all spread out and not easy to get to. It wasn't fun getting wet in May.
- The room was plain and small.
- Don't buy a refill mug, you have to leave the resort and walk down the boardwalk to refill. Which is in the back so excess walking if you ride the buses to MK or AK.
- The store is outside the resort. So package pickup and anything you need you have to go outside to the boardwalk and walk down the street.
- The arcade is outside the resort.
- all the food is outside the resort so you have to leave the resort and walk down the boardwalk
